Totally. I'm of the opinion that he WAS Depeche Mode. I mean, their albums actually started getting good after Alan joined...and then kinda pettered out after he left. Let's hope the next one is better. If there IS a next one (omg omg omg omg)

If I had my way, I'd invariably would like to see a Joy Division reunion, with the current NO members playing with a video image of Ian, a "virtual" Ian, if you will. It's actually been done with Elvis. I'd also like to see a Talking Heads reunion, which is more likely since all of the members are still alive. A Pink Floyd reunion with Roger Waters would also be great. A reunion with Syd Barrett would be even more of a long shot than a JD reunion.

Agree - and add to that The Love Cats, which - although bearing only minor resemblance - also ripped off Siouxsie's "Cocoon" - again released a year earlier. This is pretty much what you'd expect from someone who's been so inxtricably linked with the Banshees during much of the early 80s however - cross pollination of ideas is inevitable!

Years ago, I would have said maybe Faust, but they did and it wasn't all that. Neu! would be incredible, but that ain't gonna happen. So, my pragmatic side pins my hopes on the slightly less unlikely but still ridiculously long shot of... Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band.
