luke. he's hotter and he's got the force.
i've been taking a casual poll on this topic for years now and i'm acutely aware that i'm in the vast minority, but i also know that i'm very much in the right.

Han Solo is the only possible choice. In retrospect, he's the only one of the two who could hit it with Leia without it being incest--and that sexual tension is essential to those movies. Besides, Solo gets all the good lines and Luke is left with cheeseball ones like "I care..." And let's not forget who had the better post-Star Wars career. Good old Harrison is also Dr. Jones, let's not forget--and the 4th in that series should hopefully add some juice to his own career at the moment (I mean, a cop movie with Josh Hartnett? seriously. What's Dr. Jones thinking?).
which one could lift an x-wing out of a swamp by just raising his hand if he wanted (after completing his yoda-riffic training)?
luke.
if he was that good with a light sabre, imagine...well, you get the picture.
Have to go with Han here - who would you rather get pissed with? Plus the Millennium Falcon kicks the X-wing's arse.
Just a reply here to say that as soon as I clicked on this thread, I reached the part in TBTHOG with the lyrics that went "I never looked at you in a sexual way in my life before". Just an odd cosmic coincidence, I hope.
Seriously, I missed the last two Star Wars movies, so I've kinda forgotten all about what Luke was like.

Luke is almost as much of a whiney bitch as Morrissey. Han is a real man and he acts the part. Besides, everyone knows girls don't go for the "nice guys" like Luke; they go for the Han Solos.

Er...the last two Star Wars movies don't count. They don't belong in the same series as the first three. Luke's not even in them.

By "Han" I mean the OT guy, not the sucker who waits (on the 97 remix) for Greedo to shot first. Loser!

Yeah, that was stupid. Lucas is a fucking moron who can't make movies. Think about it. THX-1138 is crap, American Graffiti is so-so-----and the first Star Wars, while it's a classic corny movie, is really pretty badly made and written. And all 3 (yes, I can see the future) of the new "Star Wars" movies are pure shit. The best thing Lucas ever did was write the Indiana Jones movies.
Luke was born with the "Force" it is innate to him, bestowed by his father. He was subsequently cared for, groomed and teached by the best masters, Ben Kenobi and Yodha. He's never done nothing wrong, never had to suffer or fight.
On the other hand Solo is a fighter, no aristocratic parents for him. He had to fight to get everything he has achieved. He probably "run out to space" at a very early age. His scars are real, not psichological. He has often been on both sides of the Law but retains an innate sense of what is good and what is not. We know he would never be tempted by the dark side. We can therefore trust him. Luke hasn't got friends, he's got dear servants as R2 D2 or Teachers-Masters as Kenobi. Solo has got scores of them including a bosom, sworn one as Chewpacca.
Good lord! I never thought I would end up deconstructing SW characters, pass me the Pringles George! ![]()
I don't care about Star Wars anymore, i saw the first three films when i was a kid and they were great but i haven't bothered to see the two new films.
Luke might have the force...but his daddy was Darth Vader...
so I'm going with Han...definitely cooler...in my eyes...

no way, man. give me luke anyday. harrison ford does nothing for me. never has. but mark hamill as luke skywalker...i love the boyish charm, the wrapped-in-white naivete he never quite loses, even as he grows wiser...sigh. and as for being as whiny as morrissey...i'm sure if you put morrissey on a planet full of sand people he'd cry himself to sleep in his little desert igloo. but luke? NOOO! he faces his demons!
plus, luke lost his parents at a very young age, so cut him some slack, will ya? it's not easy losing a father to the dark side, man!
Han always ruled IMO. And always will.
Obviously Luke was the one who brought balance to the Force, but he still cannot compare to Solo. But...
Lucas' idea of Han reacting to Greedo in the 97 version of 'A New Hope' sucked big style. Han took him out (original storyline)... end of. If it was up to me, my idea of a special edition would involve Han wasting Greedo (unprovoked, naturally) then chucking a coin at the canteen owner, telling him 'Sorry 'bout the mess' & blasting his head off aswell just as he's about to catch the coin.
BTW: Caught the end of the special edition on TV last night. Still buzz off the Falcon heading into the Death Star with the sun behind it just after wasting Vader's wingman & Han screaming 'Yeeehaaaaa'.
Jesus! 26 years on & never gets old. ![]()
