I see your point Sol, but i recall that the last time someone commented about "pointless threads" - Chris Cooper or something he was called - a few regulars took umbrage and jumped down his throat and started posting snide cat-calls and puerile pisstakes in return. Needless to say, I don't think the poor guy has since returned. But, having said that, I'VE just taken the opportunity to add my twopenneth worth by doing as you've just done! :D

I think CC was all about rocking the boat, his intentions as I could tell were very much not "to alert us to pointless threads" as I think Solly has genuinely done (and I whole-heartedly agree with him, me being one of the worst offenders) but simply to be an ass. I saw something on Headline News about people who go into websites (mainly games like Sims, but also chat rooms and message boards) simply to harrass and intimidate others. Whether or not CC was just such a person is unclear (and I would apologize to him if he weren't), but nonetheless I think it's safe to say there were quite a few who didn't take his criticisms as constructive.

Taboo - I've backtracked a bit to locate that thread and I had a read of it. The impression I get is he wasn't being inflammatory at all, much less an "ass" as you so put it... He certainly didn't come across as a troll or shitstirrer cos he was posting a fair bit without any problems before he spoke out against whatever was bugging him. He DID say that it was getting tiresome, but I'm sure he's not the only one who's raised his head above the parapet and spoke out... So I still think that others took offence to his critcisms and started to launch an offensive in his general direction - which I must admit was a bit unfair.. There's also a difference - he - Chris C - didn't resort to abusive language either in his criticism - even Solitude was venting his spleen the other night! - but for someone like Shugzv to call him a twat / tosser or whatever just for speaking his mind was beyond the pale. I can't help thinking he was just the untimely victim of a kind of gang mentality syndrome when someone gatecrashes the party so to speak! ;)

I have not yet found that particular thread, from what you say, this chap Chris was dealt with unfairly. The matter of fact is that when I posted the thread 'The Person In Front.... I was feeling rather mischievious and did it to provoke a reaction. And to be fair, this has so far been very good humoured (read the first half dozen or so).

Honestly, I do find the endless threads a bit annoying but i don't have to read them do I. Fact of the matter is that I am at work bored shitless and I check the Forum to see if there is anything of interest to read but often the only posts are on these 'stoopid' threads. I guess Chris C just felt the same way? Pete
