The question now is to know when the line-up will begin... 
That is the only thing that pisses me off with those shows.. I had surgery to my knee last august, and standing up for so long won't be too good for me.. I better take some painkillers with me... :(
I hate general admission gigs...
when i lived in the city i NEVER hung out in midtown...so i have no clue as to where we should go in that area. i'll be staying with my friend near lincoln center, it's a bit far north but maybe she has some ideas.
p.s. chriss person: what's so 'touristy' about going to the village for a drink? i lived in manhattan for years so i'd hardly consider myself a tourist, thank you!
Just because it's not times square doesn't make it not touristy. The village is where all the tourists who don't want to be fingered as tourists go.

Really my problem is it's too far from the show.
Chelsea is a good compromise as far as we don't go too far south?
I got my tickets on the floor luckily enough and I'm flying back from Houston that day arriving at 6:30.
Where is the get together...I usually go to the Houlihan's on the corner.
The show sold out in 30 minutes and they might have another show. Hopefully it'll be the next night and I can go again.

Isn't it a TGIfridays? I think it's a great suggestion because it's sooo close. But I'm sure there will be people here who are too cool for that.
But for people who say that there's nothing to do around there:

I just found a website that covers nothing but New York bars.
Search under "Midtown" if you want something really close to Hammerstein. But with cabs and the subway, no place is that far. Something in the Village or Chelsea or even uptown a bit would be fine, too!
the TGIFridays is right there, i guess thats a good place to go before hand but we can jump a train downtown afterwards and hit a bar, tgif's closes pretty early on a thursday if i remember correctly

I think it's perfect for a pre-show! But I said that already.
Hit the town after the show. Don't risk being too far before!
So is the location settled then? 
What about time? 4:30? 5? later? earlier?
doors open at 6? or 6:30?
so i gues we should meet at 4:00 at TGIFridays , are we all planning to go in at the time the doors open? if so we should line up at like 5:15-5:30 we can meet at fridays, maybee exchange some cell phone numbers before hand (i will be with spotnick and wenOrder already) then after we head downtown, there is so many more choices there, we can just stumble onto a good spot.
Oh I'm going to suffer at this gig
