Well it has sold out completely now.  If they do play before Oasis it is a clever way by Warner i guess of introducing/exposing them to a hoard of teenagers / 20somethings going to see all the latest 'new' bands without it selling out much earlier on just to mainly No fans.  It's a shame that the average No fan might miss out though (if they did not gamble and get a ticket :evil4:  )

From NME:

"V FESTIVAL 2005 has sold out.

Tickets for this year’s event have all been snapped up in record time for both sites, with Chelmsford camping tickets selling out in three hours.

Festival director Bob Angus said: “With the amazing line up announced so far and it being the tenth anniversary, we’re pleased, but not entirely surprised that tickets sold out so quickly.”

V Festival 2005 will take place at Staffordshire’s Weston Park and Chelmsford’s Hylands Park between August 20-21 with a line-up featuring Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Embrace, Maroon 5, Ian Brown, Jet, Kaiser Chiefs and The Music."

Well if they aren't, I shall still be able to flog the ticket to some dufus on eBay for a vastly inflated price!

Such is the hunger for gigs, wishful thinking took over ;)

It all kicked off when the Daily Star printed that they were playing. All that had happened was they'd been offered V by the promoter, but had not decided one way or the other. So you could say it was legit under the 'rumour' category. But they can't stop promoters offering them stuff can they ?.

Anyways, its official now, they're not playing V or Reading/Leeds.

Gutted! It was one of the main reasons why I bought a V ticket on the off chance they would be there! Oh and the fact I only live down the road!

As far as the British Isles go, that, indeed, is it. For 2005. Unless, they change their minds.

OK, so who's up for the French gig?? If that really is the last one of the year, then I feel like I must be there. Mr. Giles and Mr. Jarvis will, of course, be present - but who else for the Order's last hurrah of 2005????

Given that I will be missing Barcelona, Lisbon and Germany, I am duty-bound to attend the French one!
