I've got a ticket for this, but does anyone else? Slightly worried that I'll be the only Order fan in town and the young 'uns will just point and laugh....

Sorry Fradders, not doing this one. Got a Digital gig the night before (Kilburn, all you pop pickers), and then it's off to Punchestown on the Sunday morning.

I'm goin courtesy of Tennent's. I'm in and out though. Not making a day of it. And considering the amount of bams you see on the TV highlights every year fallin about in the mud full o' bevvy and pills I'd leave any Eng-Er-Land flags safely at home.

Im not too sure, but i presume there will be buses running from the Buchanan bus depot in the city out to the site. Getting from the airport to the the city will be easy enough, there are plenty of buses and trains.

That's a pretty hefty price for The Buchanan. If you can cancel it, here's a better option.... £69 per room, bang in the centre, only built 4 years ago and Hooky stayed there when he was up!!!

Premier travel inn have rooms 45 per eve available falkirk east/west near to gig, I have a family room all to myself...but then again I might find room for 90,000 drunken scots in it, do my bit for the homeless!!

Excellent. My two favourite bands playing at the exact same time at stages which are the opposite end of the field!
Seen the Doves twice in the last six months both of which were below par. Saw NO in Barca and it fuckin' rocked....not much of a debate I suppose.
And who put Keane ahead of The Killers on the main stage?!!!!!!!
Both equally as weak in my opinion but at least my burd (and 99% of the Scottish female contingency) will be happy that she/they got to see one band she/they like!

Yup. I'm concerned that there may be a mass exodous from the NME stage after The Streets. Could be a bit embarrasing.....
The whole running order is a bit odd. As I said, Keane and The Foo Fighters getting a higher billing than The Killers is strange to say the least. They're probably the biggest band around with "the kids" at the moment.

Got a revised stage time list e-mailed to me. James Brown is now headlining the King Tuts stage so the Doves are now on between 8 and 9 which is handy. New Order also listed as a 9.30 and not 9.20.

Well, hope the gig was good as the setlist looks boring...
Saw it on BBC3 and the sound was pish to be honest, Hooky's bass was definitely out of tune for the tracks I heard. This is why I wasn't so keen on going to T (aside from camping) the band's reaching the end of their 2005 schedule and are looking a bit fooked. Also agree with Mike's Blankety Blank comment... I don't think New Order should be inviting their mates up on stage unless they're genuinely good musicians and have something to contribute like Johnny Marr for instance. Brandon Flowers is a bit of a tit 
I prefer The Bravery as well :D An Honest Mistake is better than anything The Killers have ever done IMO.
It's also true they've taken zero risks with the WFTSC setlists, same old shite every festival! :) They should drop some of the dead wood like Bizarre Love Triangle and all of the Joy Division tracks except maybe Transmission. When I first heard New Order doing Atmosphere in that 98 Peel Session I thought it was a true one-off which at the time packed alot of punch, but they've run it in to the ground tenfold now. They should've replaced them with a few fresher tracks from WFTSC like Turn, Morning Night And Day, and I Told You So.

They had a power cut on stage, which meant that they had to go off, wait for it to be fixed, and then they came back on. As the venue has a time limit, they couldn't carry on with the complete set as planned, and had to cut out some songs from the original set (probably EGG and Jetstream I would think, maybe Run Wild as well). Not their fault they had to do a shorter set!
And yes, you were spoiled in Chicago and New York. They were indoors.
All that fuss about other bands/people joining them on stage is only for New Order to point out that they still rule despite the fact that there are so many "similar" bands nowdays. Probably very annoying to most of the fans, still a very good but cheap marketing trick.
Doesn't the Factory All-stars count or the roadie singing Love Reaction in 1983 or Macca singing Ceremony in '86? I can't see what you're stressing about Mike, I thought it was a good version of Crystal.
Seems they need B list Celebs to help em now, sad really, when you think waht a great band they where.
Just wish they would play a small gig, but that is out as they would come in for even close scrunity.

Met up with Al, Mark, Gordy, Wolfram (who I never recognised....again!) G and his missus and John and Lorraine in Bloc, a bar that G's mate John runs, also met up with Shades, Bansheeman and his sister, Alex, John & Christine at the gig, we watched the Coral and The Streets, neither my cup of tea, but the crowd lapped them up, loads of people fucked off after the streets, but they were replaced by others coming from different stages. Me and John left Lorraine and Tammy at the right hand side barrier and joined the rest of the usual suspects right after Regret, the sound didnae sound bad to us at all, as for the lad from The Killers coming onstage, we all thought it was great, though we were too busy diving around like loonies to hear it clearly, fuckin mental where we were, but not deathlike (Barcelona) or thrown around and battered (Hyde Park) just the right balance of holding on for dear life and just enough space to light a fag and have a dance!!! The speakers read "Love To London" and Atmosphere was also dedicated to London, very fitting cos it was sung perfectly and not one sign of a whoop or whistle!
The songs which received the biggest crush(es) were LWTUA, Temptation and BLUE MONDAY! The highlight was the amps fucking up towards the end of True Faith, Barney stopped singing and the crowd took over, an unforgettable moment! According to Barney "The amps have blow, that's what you get when you use a 5 amp fuse.....is that the Scottish saving money?" which was met by a bit of booing till he said he was joking. The Set-List was the usual, but the crowd and the atmosphere more than made up for it. Worth every penny, and I just wish I was in Dublin tonight with the rest of the Vikings, I have already been on the phone to DoN and John and made sure they told Al to send me a setlist! Has anyone got the mp3's of the gig yet? Desperate to hear it, the band were in great spirits and Barney left the stage saying "You've been a great audience, I'm sorry but I can't stop smiling" Neither could we!
Can't wait for the next set of gigs to accompany the new album when it's out, unless I win the lottery and get to go to France. As they chanted last night....

magic t moment was when the amps went.everyone carried on singing true faith,jumping,moshing like nothing had happened.tech problems are sometimes good. was nice to meet wolf,shug and other noolers-dont recall all-bit tipsy i was speaking to doves drummer.he likes new order and was asking about the badges. my girlfriend siouxsie had her first mosh session and loved it.fucking nightmare getting there and back to hotel in falkirk but well worth it.
I was there with Bansheeman (my brother! Good taste in music runs in our family). Not much more to add to his 2 pennies worth except that I met Hooky at the signing tent and was nearly sick on him I was so excited (although the sun, beer, Chinese Chicken Balls and lack of sleep dint help). Bit embarassed bout what I said to him but he had a chuckle! I just like to thank Mr Jarvis and his cockney crew that took me under their wings for a couple hrs...ta for't cider I dint spill a drop lads! Excellent day rounded off wi Order and that dancing!!?? Who could ask for more ?
I don't understand a lot of the negativity surrounding the gig. I thought they were on fine form. Not up there with Barcelona but i never expected it to be.
As for the bloke from The Killers, he got one of the biggest cheers of the set. When the set-list is that predictable any deviation from the norm is a welcome relief!
This was my first TITP and I must say it was much better than I'd expected. The bus journey up was a canter even though I did have to bribe the driver a fiver to get him to stop and let me have a piss. Was a bit more of an "adventure" on the way back according to the Jarvo, JG and the rest but fortunately we blagged a lift.
The weather was great and having access to clean bogs and a bar with no queues was a good bonus in the hospitality bit. Caught the last half of The Killers last song after walking for 20 minutes to get there then straight from there to the signing tent just as NO were leaving!
Lazed about on the grass, missed the Editors, saw the Doves and then headed over to NO. Highlights? Probably the power cut and the bloke from The Killers! And Temptation which really made it's mark with the crowd I think.
Good to meet up with the rest of the Barcelona massive again. Special mentions to Shug for nominating himself as the main point of contact for all NOOLers then leaving his phone at home! Johnny Giles for lasting the pace and taking in some of Glasgow's late night highlights (including a dodgy burger at 3AM) and Al Jarvis for doing my dishes!!!! The vision of you in an apron, up to your elbows in greasy water would've been one to treasure had I been able to get out my pit.

Can't add much to that. Getting Brandon involved was a good touch and certainly got the crowd excited. Apparently, they had wanted to get him on stage at Glastonbury but when Ana M put herself forward for Jetstream they decided to leave it for TITP.
NO have always been collaborators, right back to the early 80s, they've produced other Factory bands, worked on Thick Pidgeon etc. Nowt new.

The setlist was as it originally appeared, but with Crystal moved to third in the set (in biro!) obviously cos they couldn't just have Brandon walk out with them to start with.
The only song dropped was KW1 from the encore in Ireland.
Surprised people moan about the set length. 10 songs, plus 2 for an encore sounds about right to me. And people moan when they do the same, then moan when they do something different (ie. Brandon Flowers). Can't win these boys, can they?
I suppose people are expecting 17 every show like we had in the 2002 dates. I can still remember gigs that had 8 and no more!
Not complaining... but when they headline I was expecting them to do a full set.
I can totally understand that they can't play 17 songs just before Coldplay, but otherwise.
Seems like Hyde Park was different than the big ones!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I'm just surprised!
I'd take a 12 songs gig anytime around here ;)

I was lucky enough to see New Order at T In The Park this year. I got into them about a year ago after copious name-checks from The Killers and now i like them as much, if not more than Brandon's lot.
Spot on with the highlights ^^ I also loved when during the power cut Hooky blamed it on the Foo Fighters ('american bastards using all the power' ;) )
I know the BBC showed New Order's set and I was just wondering if anybody from this forum captured it? I only have the video and audio from Crystal, which ill gladly share if you don't have it.

Welcome, happy first post. No bother about the rambling, read some posts and you'll understand we are used to it.
Only four tracks were broadcast on the night Krafty, Crystal, Regret and WFTSC, LWTUA has since been broadcast on T highlights which is a weekly show on BBC2 Scotland at 11:30 on Friday nights, the show is on this Friday and (I think) next Friday. Will wait to see if any more is shown before putting them together and sending out.
