Depeche Mode touring USA in October, November, & December. 2005 is truly my greatest concert year.
Erasure, New Order, U2, and Depeche Mode all in 2005!!!!!
Seen them all several times in past, but not all this close together.
I really wish New Order would open for Depeche Mode. They are playing several USA dates and those concerts would easily sell out. Depeche can still sell out stadiums on their own, but with New Order added to the ticket, that would make it even stronger.

Maya, he said in the USA... Depeche Mode can fill 20,000 places arena there... New Order barely filled a 5000 places venue in Chicago...

i saw the the fall,buzzcocks and THE SMITHS play on the same bill with NEW ORDER headlining at manchester gmx sometime around 87?.thats one good year in one good day

Bunnymen weren't playing but Ian McCulloch sang Ceremony. Also on that day: The Worst, OMD, John Cale and Frank Sidebottom who cut short his set afetr narrowly missing getting his head smashed in by a flying bottle.
My best was the inside Festival at August 12th 1984 in Liege/Luik/Lüttich in Belgium with New order (with EGG too), the Bunnymen, Shriekback and Fad Gadget.

Wasn't it just Pete Shelley solo, rather than the Buzzcocks?
Also same year NO played Royal Court in Liverpool as part of a monster line-up. If I hadn't lost so many brain cells through alcohol I would be able to remeber who they were. I am sure somebody will tell us.

The Fall/The Smiths/New Order, Feb 8 1986--I've got photos of the Smiths and the Fall from this gig but sadly none of New Order. It was a benefit for Liverpool City Council.
Was also at the royal court in Liverpool in Feb 86 - it was cold and wet outside, but enjoyed the (short) sets from my fave bands of the time - seem to remember a Maggie's Farm finale - must dig out the tapes some time...and was also at GMEX in the summer of that year - remember Ian Mac on Ceremony - was a great few days - I'd seen the Bodines and I think James (?) at the Russell club a couple of days earlier and topped it off by the Smiths at Salford Uni on the Sunday, before heading back south - great memories!

Good to see you are OK in Hackney Wolfram. Maggies farm was dire, seem to remember Margie Clark being on stage and quite possibly that tosser Hatton.

Aye.Picked my bags up from the hotel straight after the club and a cab to the airport. Needless to say a tad the worse for wear. Don't know when I'll be in blighty but let you know, will be in the park everyday walking my cousins dogs.

If I remember rightly,Shelley was in another band called ZAP.A great gig,including Ian McCulloch doing vocals on Ceremony,with his lyrics on a crib sheet.
Also remember OMD doing "Electricity",Bill Grundy were there,John Cooper Clarke reading "I married a creature from outer space" and "chicken town". "...the fucking beer's fucking flat,the fucking birds are fucking fat!!"
Oh and Derek Hatton was on crutches...could have sworn I hit him full on with my car.

this year I saw New Order, Slint, Gang of Four, and Dinosaur Jr (the classic 1985-88 lineup). BEAT THAT!!!
