Does anyone think they should warn the Bush in advance that so many thirsty people will be in attendance tomorrow. Imagine if they ran out of coke?

He was very entertaining. Did about 1.5hrs: Q&A session, 2 readings, questions from the floor. QEH was sold out for him. It defo suits events of this kind, still not convinced about New Order etc playing there!!
Pretty sure they will be raising the stage height for this one up to something more typical - otherwise it will be so weird seeing them playing on something a foot high, they outgrew that sort of thing in the early 80s! It'll be just like that Celebration TV broadcast, almost flat on the studio floor!

I thought that, but am not sure they can. Guess there must be a tech spec on the rfh site somewhere?? The problem is that the stage is so DEEP as well. It's built for a full orchestra so is deeper, more than it is wider, if that makes sense. When I was in there a couple of weeks ago I thought they could change the structure. Not entirely sure now after last night.

Can't find a tech spec for the venue. Wonder if they've sold the seats behind the stage as well, as if they haven't included those, the capacity will be further reduced!

There's a whole batch of seats the other side of the stage in the venue floorplan. Quite common with classical venues, they are sometimes used for the choir but can also be used by the public.

You sure you're looking at THIS right?! There's nothing the other side of the stage. Indeed, there's nothing the other side of the stage in reality either, am sure of that.

Went to see the Fall the other week, the stage they were playing on was about 30 cm high. Was standing so close, i could almost smell MES's bad breath! One guy in the audience just walked up the stage, sat in front of the drumkit whilst his girlfriend took pictures of him with her phone, i kid you not. MES told him to piss off.
A stage should be at least 1.5 meters high dammit

No, I was looking at something else on the site that showed the full plan, not the seating availability.
Horror!! I saw Keith Allen this morning on the way to work. He was cycling down towards the strand (in the direction of the QE Hall!! The last time I saw him was the Thursday night at Glastonbury (watching Domino Bones) I had a horrible feeling then that he must be there for World in motion. Please, not this time as well!!!

Where's that then? I've been there twice in as many weeks and don't know where these other seats are?
Will's just sent me this link as well. Seems the choir seats are an ad-hoc extra availability for certain events.
They're not seats available for the paying public, that's just the stage set-up for when they have choirs in, as opposed to orchestras or bands. The venue's like any other. A stage at the end of a long room.

Have a good 'un folks. There's surely little else more apt to pay tribute to Peelie than a bunch of oldies showing that they've still got rock 'n' roll flowing in their veins. And I'm talking about the punters as much as the band, of course. If only i'd known I was going to jack in my fucking job I'd be there too.

That's what I would have thought as well, but it says on the Theatre Monkey site that
CHOIR
These seats face the rest of the auditorium, behind the orchestra. They are sold only if choir or stage performers do not need the space.
Divided into centre and two side blocks, all seats offer excellent sound and a good view of the conductor, but the backs of the heads of his orchestra.
Sit here for a cheap and good value concert experience.
Legroom is good in all seats, especially row A.
