Where were the New Order/Joy Division fans in relation to the stage and where New Order played at Ally Pally? The atmosphere seemed to be a bit strange and did I hear Barney shout 'Come on!' at the audience? I take it that wasn't directed at the New Order fans.
For starters the bastards at the TV company edited the first few NU ORDAH chants from us, cos John Sim's introduction had been cut. (after the first chants interrupting him, he said "hold on, they'll be on in a minute" ) As the band were taking the stage you could clearly hear Alex shouting "Come on Hooky lad" - Hooky's first words were "Fook me I'm famous" :)
Between Barney & Hooky they thanked Andy & Rebecca, everyone who has worked for them and their families, then Bernard promised "no guitar solo's" in reference to Slash taking the piss on the Hendrix tribute.
The band then took to the stage to perform Regret & LWTUA and you can clearly hear us lot shouting NU ORDAH NU ORDAH. Class. As Jim says I can die a happy man now. Infamy at last :D
The songs sounded a lot better live at the venue - the TV version had obviously less of a live effect than being there. But fair fookin play the band done themselves justice and it is brilliant to see them get awards like this cos they fully deserve it.
Hopefully we will hear more from them next year and several gigs (after April) would be nice.

I had a long way to come, travelling from germany to england and back to switzerland:) and living in France ! Some people know now how crazy a fan can be and surely I don't say my last words

Wew were right at the back, a million miles from the stage. So I was pretty chuffed when I re-watched the show a bit earlier - we made quite a racket between the two tunes, much to Hooky's obvious pleasure. And you can hear Alex ("Don't mention the war!") like he was right at the bloody front!

I also saw him standing during their performance but after he was told off by an elderly female usher, he sat down. I mean fancy telling Alex to sit down. Especially when he looked so smart and everything. ;)

Apart from me and Midnight Blue.
We gave our own little standing ovation when they came to the podium and after the set.
We sat down during the songs, but the whole bloke of seats was bouncing about from our sit down dancing

I spoke to Andy Rob earlier, and he sounded rather chuffed/touched that New Order had a 'prescence' in the audience as, for anywhere who was there knows, no other band appeared to have the fanbase.
The only other 'shout outs' you got all night were for fcuking 'Onetel'!

Now, blame the other bands' fanclub on how they attributed tickets ;) I'm just glad they did email us here, and I'm happy to see many of the hardcore made it there!
Now I hope I'll see this one day.

You all sounded great. To be fair, all the fans sounded great considering the distance. Just wish I could have been there.

Yes, I think we all appreciate having the Order in 'close range' particularly when we hear stories of how far people travel for one gig.
Necklace is right, but if you want to be really precise - a tight one like that is a choker. :)

Can I just say that Shaun Ryder's "I can hear the whole world in them songs" is just about the most succinct description of the reason I (and we?) love New order I have ever heard.
