Newbie NOOLers Meeting Up

Couldn't find the Newbie thread, so sorry if repeating.

Had an e-mail from Matt Hicks who is keen to meet up with us all for the first time for the Manc gig, but he is concerned that he (my words) will have to prise himself into a cliquey formidable mob.

I did explain that it isn't the case and suggested that Barney Army was very impressed with his first experience of meeting up with the regulars (please share BA :D).

So don't be shy come along and join in - Joshua Brooks will be the place to start!!!

Yes, but it could appear that way to outsiders who aren't as suave, witty and confident as you.

Mr Jarvis ignored me for the first half hour when I met him a few years ago, but seemed to losen up after a pint :p and then it was easy to grow to love him!

oops, forgot about that, I dont need 'pink capsules' to forget gigs. It was 2 days until I'd realised they played Love Vigilantes at Hyde Park.

I'm more concerned about being let loose in a big city on my lonesome. And trying to work out who's who, and which ones of them owe me a smack in the chops for being a gobshite on here :)

Just fall in the door, sing the opening lines of STYT and end it with a classic jazzy coda of "now it's my rooooooooound".

And they'll love ya.

err, I must admit I was a bit nervous at first, but everyone was really cool so I soon felt at home.

Although I may have to watch me back for 'americans' this time

I presume you mean Chorlton Street coach station, about a 10 minute walk.

I presume you mean Chorlton Street coach station, Joshua Brookes is at 106 Princess Street - about a 10 minute walk.

Nah, I could do it in less than that even with my little trotters - down Canal Street then turn onto Princess street, past a couple of turnings and your there.

Getting train to Piccadilly, staying at the Gardens - is the pub within walking distance?

As far as I know we are talking about the Monday afternoon, not the weekend, but I am up at the weekend anyway as are a few others.

There is on-going disagreement about meet ups for the Monday I think - who said Canterbury Arms?

Just to clear up any confusion, Canterbury Arms is the Brixton pub, Joshua Brookes is the Manchester one.

Aaah, that would have caused confusion then!!

i might go piccadilly wetherspoons for a double vodka starter about 1.30 then going on to joshua brooks if anyone needs leading to joshua's from piccadilly
