20/25 min walk..
Bus? Steve, if you're flying into MCR the train is a better bet from the airport into Picadilly.

Cant say I have ever met a Nooler so I will make an effort to get to Joshua Brooks. Just one problem. No ticket at the moment. Working on a cunning plan to get my son who is a prefect at Hookys sons school to threaten him with a late Monday evening detention unless he coughs up a ticket/guest list invite. What chance hey?

I had no idea who you were. Just vaguely wondered which one of you and your mate Dave was shagging, and which one of you was doing Mark.

Bus all the way from Belftas mate, plane is too much hassle.
Cheers Ness, 10 mins of sightseeing it is then.
I'm a Newbie Nooler, but will be travelling to Manc (and now, by the looks of it, Brixton) with the not-so Newbie Nooler, Doctor Clayhead.
If the Newbie Noolers insist on having their own little group, I will have to flit between the two like the social butterfly that I am (ahem).
You won't be able to miss us. We'll be the two drunk Stokies (we're planning to get there early-ish) and Doc will be showing off his New Order/Stoke City flag at every opportunity (or so I've been told)....
Look forward to meeting everyone!
:beer2:
Every NOOLer I've ever met has been one or all of the following:
a. Friendly
b. Chatty
c. Non-judgemental
d. As sad and uncool as me
e. Very, very drunk
Any 'newbies' have nothing to fear - just introduce yourself to anyone you recognise from pics on the site, someone wearing a NOOL T-shirt or anyone with one of Al's 'Vikings' badges... ...as long as no one is too drunk, you'll be introduced to a few people, probably bought a pint, chatted to, photographed, etc.
If people are too drunk, you'll just be bought beer, photographed, slurred at, hugged and drunkenly escorted to the gig

Oh, and you'll have a good time ![]()
If anyone's worried about getting lost in scary Manchester, send me an email and I'll give you my mobile number.
If you call after about 2pm I will probably just slur "Get a cab" into the wrong end of the phone, but you never know, I might be of some use.
Joshua Brooks is pretty much in the middle of Oxford Rd and Picadilly Train stations and really near to Chorlton St bus station/rent boy forum. Ask someone for directions or get a < £3 cab and you can't go wrong (until you get to the pub, that is).

Big is she?
The real question is: have you managed to work out her real name yet?

Her real name is Shelley Clayhead-Blore IV and she works in a pottery kiln making giant ceramic replicas of Stan Mathews' bell-end.
I kid you not.

Dear Mr Rocket
I thought you could only answer questions which were posed to you direct - you haven't answered my last one yet, so don't jump the gun!

I'll do the honours. It's the only honour you'll see round these parts (did I say that?...); what time are you expecting to be in 'town'?

I think it will be fair to say....unspeakably early.

Bloor, surely, up there?
You getting on train at Stoke on 14th? If so, what time? We ain't had a beer for 3 years mate!
Most probably, Tim: you got a specific time you want to be in Manc? I'm fairly easy (fnaar fnaar), but was probably thinking along the lines of departing Stoke circa midday-1pm, heading to Joshua Brooks and doing the sensible thing of lining my stomach before the day's debauchery. Don't want to end up with a KFC bucket on my head or a broken arm, obviously!! Ms. Chapman will be accompanying us, I think.
Doctor Clayhead wrote: Ms. Chapman will be accompanying us, I think.
Yes, I will. I want to see this flag of yours...
Got to agree with all above. As a newbie NOOLer before the Hyde park gig in June really felt welcomed by all in the Audley pre gig from both old and new hands and look forward to meeting aquanticies old and new in Joshua Brooks. Catching the 12.54 train from brummie land so with vermin willing should be in the boozer about 3.30. hopefully you will all still be in there then..

How are you travelling over? Clock & myself are on the ryanair Dublin-Manc on 14th at 12.35 - if you're on the same flight we can start in the bar in Dublin airport & ALL get lost looking for Josh Brooks in Manc
WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH I wanna fly from dublin and get pissed and debauched at 33000 feet!!! However, just in case anyone else is suffering the same indignity, I'll be taken the Cheap Northern Bastard route, featuring grey skies, grey seas, grey heather and fucking cumbria (and it's number one landmark). Not to mention westmorland services, where you're brain is bent by having so many things to get bent over it can't decide which to get going on....are those REALLY ordinary rabbits outside or is this actually tubbyland....how the hell can they charge 17quid for a cup of brown liquid in a cup marked tea. And it may also feature prolonged periods of exposure to children, not a good thing. i think I mentioned the family of religious freaks on the coach last time I went over....how much did they annoy me.....I was serisouly weighing the jail sentence against, well, against they sheer pleasure of popping the emergency door and heaving the fckers out oldest to youngest, just to see if jesus was appreciative enough of their irritating noises, to do something about them hitting the tarmac at 70mph, 6inches infront of the obligatory eddie stobart driver who thinks he on the retifillio tribue at monza slipstreaming for a killer move.
Jesus I hope you're ugly Samantha, a pretty single girl who likes new order, I mean that's up their with "honest politician" and "non sociopathic drummer" and "modest singer"....I mean....you know they MUST be out there, but what are the chances of seeing one. I strongly suspect you will not have to buy a drink the entire night....more out of chivalry, and protection of a rare species than anything else I should imagine...I'll be able to spot you when I arrive......you'll be the one with 47 vikings in a circle round you laughing at every single intelligable utterance you make LOL I hope you don't smoke, if youpull out a fag so many lighters will spark up it'll set the sprinklers off. probably best if you don't read my profile :)
EDIT: I don't suppose any of the paddies know which magic piano's in Engerland will give you money if you give them a bank of ireland card and play your little tune on them. (I mean ATM's obviously)...I think I could do without the "take my money you retard" row this time.

Same flight! Sounds like a plan. Airport bar it is!
