Fooking 'ell Nick, you've certainly got some imposing looking lads on your side, some of them make Peter Crouch look like a short arse.
We are confident our brain will triumph over your brawn anyway.
"I said the harder they come the harder they fall one and all." :D.

Barney's Army footie team did look like big bruisers last night John..![]()
an event like this deserves to be honoured with a suitable venue, nad im sure rocKet miCK would back me up on this. CHORLEY TOWN HALL. im serious, chorley is loaded with pubs, plenty of places to stay, its smack bang in the middle of brittain, and the order played one of their first gigs there. the town hall has a VERY big ball romm and the idea of hooky djing fills me with glee. if you need any contributions, time ect get in touch,if we compare prices ect on venues and such we can make arrangements. on a side note, pick a date and stick to it,you will never be able to please everybody so people will either have to work around it or wait for the next un.
Count me in. If I can get the proper software and printer in time, I would love to do some poster/artwork design, as well. I bet Clockwork C would like to, as well!![]()

How the fuck do I travel to Chorley? And where is Chorley on the map? Is it anywhere by the sea? I know, I suck. Even managed to get lost in my own fookin city yesterday. Will Rocket let me spend the night at his house then (NOT WHAT YOU THINK, sinners!!)? I don't do ironing though. But I can order a pizza and check out the local delivery boys.

Maya,Chorley's about an hour on the train from Manchester Piccadilly to Blackpool North.Never been there at night though,so I can't comment on the pubs.![]()

youve also got chorley cakes and starsailor aint you ![]()
Don't mind doing the catering side; as long as it's not in London! In fact, I don't mind doing it at all, as long as it's in Solihull and at a push, Brum, but the latter being the case, I want security OK? A Stoke flag alone, should do the trick!
I still think we should put it somewhere fucking daft so we all get equally fucked over. Like the Only time NO got to go to the Hacienda Birthday bash.....and they held it in Holland.
With no more gigs on the horizon maybe time to start sorting this out?
Maybe best to start with the basics?
Date: I'd be happy letting the 'ardcore sort out a few dates then put it down to a vote for everyone else. Unfortunately it's not gonna suit everyone but can anyone else think of a better way?
Location: Probably London is best, more to do, and probably cheaper for those/any coming from abroad.
Oh, and when is Spotty over here? At the risk of sounding a soft-arse maybe we should schedule it for then, without this site (apart from the Vikings) we'd all just have gone to the gigs with our mates and not had the pleasure of meeting other New Order fans from all over the world.
One last thing, I've lost my bravado about the football now, after a poor showing on Weds. Although our team was sporting bruised ribs,toes,elbows.. sore calfs, thighs (one buttock) and a collective hangover to slay an army. All in a good cause though.
AND... could it coinicide with the Release of Community 2?

Amen to that, Nick! It would cost me a fookin bomb if I had to travel anywhere further especially cause there are no flights from Belgrade direct to any city in England apart from London. Mind the foreigners peeps please, after all it's easier for you to travel your own country.
EDIT: this is for Barney Armey
I'm with you on all of that, except the London bit. For once it' not a "what a pile of cunts southerners are" (can't say that for a while anyway since the London order were such a pleasant lot), but rather because London is Gouge City. SO expensive. Somewhere NEAR London could be just as convenient, and might not involve being bent double over the counter and having your trousers removed for each purchase. "London:world's largest M'way services".
I'm thinking Rockall, Rathlin Island, Douglas, truro, somewhere feckin stupid.Portmerion would be cool, but would be SO expensive, and full of prisoner fans, not all of whom are as descerning as myself in musical terms :)
in seriousness tho, the considerations are.......
access to a 5-a-side facility access to copious amounts of alocohol access to a stage with lights (maybe even with sound too, as long as the housemonkey keeps his paws off), somewhere that gets used as a full on club would be ideal because it will have correctly installed decks (fucking essential if you ever want to HEAR certain early NO efforts). Also it needs to be somewhere that we don't get fucked out in the street at 1am or some shite like that.
Reckon the reality, will be at least 2 venues in one town, which might not be bad. The footballers could go do their thing while myself, such members of bands as can be found, the rest of the wimps prepare the evening's entertainments.
incidentally....any of you chaps work in a sound hire firm or know anyone who does? That could come in rather handy :)

Shouldn't be too hard to sort out an internal flight to most other UK cities for next to nothing. However, that's a good point you're making. As I was/am suggesting somewhere near to London, just to get out of the capital City rip off zone, maybe a coach/minibuss could be hired or something and used as a find-the-gig-mobile/field ambulance.
I dunno, maybe I'm, overcomplicating things, maybe it's not like that any more, but the last time we looked into doing shows in London, we were just STUNNED at how much it would cost. We could have run a week of shows in one of Belfast's better efforts for the same money it would cost to do a quick 2 band gig in a medium pub-venue in London.
kinda hoping Digital and Re:Order will have all the know how on that.
Besides Maya, after flying in from Belgrade, any internal journey will be a mere hop :)
Steve Campbell wrote: Besides Maya, after flying in from Belgrade, any internal journey will be a mere hop :)
Trust me Steve, you wouldn't want to know the average serbian salary converted into english pounds!
But as I'm not being a moaning bitch I'll stick to whatever you lot decide and see what I can do.
you're probably not much skinter than me my dear :)
Also worth remembering that what you spend on travel, may be recouped on lower cost of drink and facilities.
the real shitter for me is forking out to have my passport renewed so I can fly like a grownup instead of killing myself on the coach again....coach from Belfast-scotland-London? how about fuck off :)
If we could persuade 'Chemical' Al (rather than Al J) to pull some strings with CAMRA, we might be able to get some cost-price beers for the event. I'll have a chat with him and see.

Is there a suggestion in there? If so, it sounds like a good one ![]()
it wasn't but now you mention it. hmmmmmmmm
It would certainly make it easier to get shitefaced without worrying about having to leave early with Her Majesty's gentlemen.
on the other hand, if we talk the tribute bands into playing, as it is, I'm the only guy with a problem, It's a laptop, a bass and a cable bag on a plane.....move the whole shebang to the Dam, and those poor sods have to move instruments, backline, the lot.
Still here's dreaming :)
Maya, pet, be cool, it's not gonna be in Holland. We were just musing that such a location would be convenient for certain persons who prefer other methods of getting loaded than good old booze. Look at it this way, however skint you are...I'm on friggin benefits, and what ever you have to lug with you from Belgrade, I'll have the same AND cables and a laptop (maybe even a full computer) to get from belfast. SO I'll not be wanting anything too tricky either.
We aint gonna have it without you chick :)

Aw! The thing is I’m just being skint when outside this mad country, while here I earn pretty well to be a rich bitch, haha. Most of you would look like bloody millionaires here with things being so much cheaper than over there except for adidas yeah. Bought me Adidas Supergirl Pants in London for ₤25 (3,000 dinars at that time) came back here and went to Adidas shop, holy fuck, the same piece was almost 3,700 din. Fookin rip off I say!!! Will also have to take a a loan from the bank but that’s okay really. And I already have my connections (so to speak) in the UK Embassy ---- mmmm, that Brit guy who will sign for my visa (V-I-S-A <--------- that is exactly where you and I differ my friend)he’s so damn cute, hope he’s there when I come to visit him again
, fingers crossed!! Shouldn’t really be a problem now that I’ve already been there and came back on the day that I said I would. Might only need a proof that I’m going to a NOOL day, haha (but I kid you not!!!). On a serious note, maybe I’ll even get Tim as a moderator of this forum to write some kinda invitation or something and send them a fax but that only if he’s willing to. Shouldn't cost him a thing, mind!!! Shit, that would be treated as an international call too but he could always do that from work, hee hee. But will email Tim about it when the time comes if necessary.
Till then, ![]()
I'd think since you;ve had a UK visa befoe and were a good little girl they'll be ok about giving you another one. What do they rip you off for it but?
Just do what I do and stuff a couple of complex looking cables in your pocket and claim you're "with sound for this gig and if I don;t get there there wont be a gig (large eyes and blubbing)", works a treat :)
So we actually should start thinking about where. Seriously (for the first time in my life?), somewhere near enough to Londond to make getting there easy, but far enough out to not be in the capital high price zone. Unless you guys can think of a suitable alternative. We need to know if we are indeed having bands/DJ's, and most importantly and least pleasantly, we'll need to work out how much cash we're going to need to front between us. I mean with bands alone, we may only need 50 quids worth of mics and cables by using an in-house rig, OR we may suddenly find ourselves hiring 400 bill's worth of decent rig (that brings vans into the equation too). Same deal with the 5 a side....is this a knock about in the park or an organised indoor match/tournament that will require the block booking of a leisure centre. The booze up....will they want a room deposit or will they take our assurance that $BIGNUM vikings can sink a profit for them. Details like the fact that singer X likes shure and singer Y always uses AKG we can thrash out (of them) nearer the time. but we should, as soon as possible work out how much the sod's gonna cost and whether everyone will be expected to pay a bit into the kitty in advance or whether a few people are gonna underwrite it and charge an entrance (trouble with that is, if we have bands and so on, they aint gonna wanna pay to play, but a kitty deposit will sit easier).
PS if we actually Do get any bands, and they happen to be used to working with a monitor engineer, let me know asap so I can think of an illness to keep me away from that job, or the whole thing ( shudder). I don't mind mixong monitors from Front of House, cos if you shout "look you donkey, you can't have your guitar AND your vocal both up louder in the monitor, basic law of physics, now put up and shut up", down the talkback, you;ve a much higher chance of living through it from out there than if you;re up there in guitar swinging distance.

₤40! Bastards!
For the priviledge of visiting England, good God. I wonder if you get money off if you only come to Northern Ireland.
Mayhaps we should have it in Belgrade :)
