So what's the story with Apollo, did you get that as well? not that there's owt wrong with the webcast, but I'd like a bit of viking atmosphere as a reminder of me popping my NO cherry.

Diggy Mike is my HERO for this, trully the best concert recording ever. He goes to all the trouble of taking recording gear into the venue and setting himself up like a human microphone, then pogos and sings all the way through the gig. So it's Diggy Mike and friends live with a backing band who sound a bit like New Order.

A classic keepsake for anyone who was jumping around and singing right next to him! It makes me smile every time I hear it (which has been just about all the time since it arrived).

That's what I call music :thumb:

Where the hell's mine, all-singing, all-dancing pogo boy??!!??

I actually remember someone saying to me afterwards that Mike recorded the gig.....I'm thinking, hang on, is that the same DigiMike who never mentioned his devious plans once in the pub before the show, and the selfsame DigiMike who spent at least one song bouncing around with his arm around my neck bawling along like there was no tomorrow?

Surely not, I thought.

That's precisely why I'm so keen for the apollo one. It was just superb that I got to keep an excellent video recording of my first New Order gig. But it was also my first gig with you freakers, and for the first half of ceremony all I could here was Hooky and us. Thankfully, like the Brixton tape demonstrate occurred there, we've all shouted ourselves half hoarse by the 2nd chorus :) I wonder if that was the reason for the Fog machine, just to silence thwe crowd enough to hear the band....backfired at the apollo tho there's a few places where it's clear Bernard's got more than a touch of "fog throat"

DMB: lemme know when u want apollo addresses. I'll take care of the bogorder(north and south) if you like, take some load off your poor wee burner.

You are, yes. Absolutely terrible. Not only that, but being the most tuneless people at a NEW ORDER gig FFS!.

Not so bad tho, you're all fucked by the end of love vigilantes anyway :)

Yes, there are certain people here, DMB and your good self included Rocket, who could easily retire on the amount of beer tokens owed them around the world for services(Audio) rendered :D

EDIT: And as for the vocalisations. Jeez guys, the accolade of "most tunesless tosser" at a new order gig surely belongs on the other side of the wedge monitors?

I was demonstration this Vikings concert to my dear Leanne the other day, and we both noticed something even funnier....about 1:14 into ceremony....Hooky plays a bum note (hey it happens to the best of us)...and you all STOP SINGING like you're suddenly unsure of your part or the key of the piece or something. It's like listening to 300 Bernards. Pished primadonna's.

It's possibly the funniest thing i've ever heard on a NO audio (that didn't come from the stage)

the nicest word for your howlings is certainly "atmosphere". I think snoopy nearly put us in a ditch coming back from the hooky DJ gig when he heard you lot coming out of his tractor's[1] speakers....and that was after a stern warning about the content. The conclusion I have drawn from this recording is that NO do not use a fog machine simply to enhance the lights, have you ever noticed they point it right at you lot ( they did at apollo14), it's a ploy to rip your vocal chords to ribbons (shouting with fog oil residue on your voicebox will silence you in no time) by the end of about the 3rd track, and sure enough on this CD... :D Gotta say though, they might want to think about targeting a fresh air source on the stage, fog rips barney's voice up too....it's those notes at the end of gigs where he opens his mouth and fuck all but a death rattle comes out.
