The NEC was Hibster's debut as well

Reading 93 was good, but 98 was even better looking back on it, we had been playing the Apollo gig constantly, I think John got the gig from David Smith (the lad who co-ran the Paradise fanzine) so we knew what we were in for, twas fucking great seeing the reworked Touched & TF back then as well as the amzing versions of the Joy Division songs.

Can't wait for January. My birthday's the 19th, but I can now postpone the drunken antics till the 28th :D

He posted on here a year or two back but then disappeared. Apparently someone got in touch with him because we were talking about that fanzine of his, and someone mentioned they'd copy a few and send them on, so David appeared and said he could re-print and re-sell them. Top man he was, it was him who sorted us out with the tickets for the Liverpool Olympia gig

Cheers Shuglet, those fanzines (although quite infrequent) were a good source of 'geek' information for us lot in the pre-internet days. Pity he didn't transfer his considerable skills to a web-site or other. Ta

I just wish they would hurry up and release tickets. My nerves can't take it...although by the sounds of it, there'll be plenty to go round. I might buy a few to make sure I have more space :wink:

Just for the record, we named our News Room "NOISE" in honor of the other New Order fanzine of the same name, in which Sebastien, the co-webmaster, was a writer.

NOISE = New Order Information SErvice.

You're right, it was shit in '98, the venue is dreadful, its huge and it'll be empty - at £40 plus handling fee I think I may take my chances with a tout (tickets were being sold for a fiver last time they played this void) and then sending the rest via NOOL charity day. Can't see touts investing too much in this gig though after the Brixton/Wireless price crashes this year.

19500 capacity venue with tickets going on sale immediately before Christmas, Pah! It wouldn't surprise me if this event gets cancelled due to sluggish ticket sales - who'd heat that place in the middle of winter for a couple of thousand people rattling round in it? I think whoever organised this needs to extricate their head from somewhere rather unpleasant.
