Surely this was said tongue-in-cheek. I think it's a reference to Led Zeppelin and (not?) surprisingly, Robert Plant himself is featured on the video.

Maybe there's a nod to the KLF in there too. Can't remember whether the years tie up or not but KLF left a dead sheep outside the Brit Awards ceremony when they won something and promptly split up.
I think Barney mentioned he had just read the Led Zepplin bio ("Hammer of The Gods"? Something with "Gods" in it) when he was talking about the sheep sacrifice, saying that he thought that might improve their careers if they tried it.
On a related note, they reportedly sacrificed a skunk before going in to record "World in Motion"

There's nothing wrong with "World in Motion", although the No Alla Violenza mix has an awful final thirty seconds, but the original is an awesome track

i think if it was true it had to be mentioned somewhere on 24HPP. Tony Wilson would have loved that story. and surely he would have mentioned something about it.

Musically it is fine - I tend to think of it as an instrumental track that had some words added.
