However, if you'd added a bass to some of the earlier Electronic moments like Reality, Gangster and Try All You Want I think they'd all make brilliant New Order tunes.

Agreed, although I'm not sure NO's tardiness necessarily helped - and "Gangster" etc were released on by Electronic on Factory before the Mondays were let loose with any jeeps... Perhaps if they had been NO tunes Factory might have survived!
