This topic is inspired by yesterday's melancholic fatalism and I now feel a need for a cheerful topic.Right so we were all newbies once, so what can you recall about your first postings? what were they? and on what topic can they be found? obviously I'm curious to know if Huntsy gatcrashed a serious discourse twixt Patsy and Klumpy with waffle about badgers or pringles and if so did they manage to respond in the next couple of hours after picking there jaws up?.

I don't know about myself I reckon but I remember Huntsy, in the beginning, complaining about the fact we were too nice, not confrontational enough...

Those were the days...

Some muppet was lying and saying he had a early copy of Get Ready(ages ago this was) and no songs on it would get onto any Monaco or Electronic album. I therefore slagged him and accused him of speaking out of his arse. Which he obviously was.

My first post was incredibly dull (no change there then).... i went back a read it (coz, im still on half term and have nothing better to do..)

I saw the Crystal vid on Q music channel about a week ago, its certainly interesting! Still, here in the UK, i think the song will be huge, it rocks

So there you have it, fucntional, and to the point. And the angel was there from the start.

Funny, when I met Dave Hibell at the Beehive before the Brixton gig, he asked me had I brought the angel with me... I thought it was funny, didnt even realise that people noticed it! lol!

BTW, the angel thing comes from a tattoo I have just below my ankle bone, which says suprisingly, Angel*. If you ask nicelt enough, one day i might show you all..... x

Mine may have been (and this was long ago, before the format change, so you won't be able to find it) complaining that Technicolor Technocrat Tango was too cheerful.

I can't remember mine, probably drivel anyway, but early doors I was severely chastised by the Hooky Monster who seemed to take great exception to the fact that I get more helpings of 'roly poly' than him. I seem to remember it was just after Huntsy and I had made a public spectacle of ourselves fantasising about that heavy set Rock Chick, Chaka Khan! :smoking:

I don't know about your first post muffy-but I remeber Sebastien giving you a bollocking for putting a blowjob on your profile-so your early posts were complaining about him threatening to throw you off.

I still find the picture of that pink shirt more offensive mind ;)

Christ!! How could I have forgotten about that?? I remember Klumpy having a jealous fit once too cause he thought me and Huntsy were lovers or something! And then there's Velocity Girl, she's had a go at me. And that sexy but unpopular pink shirt, that's been another source of jibes, and the tattoo, oh my god, i'm not popular at all am I?? :headoff:

I like you, Muffy, really.

I mean, after the initial provocation, you proved yourself a totally worthy poster, a true and noble NO fan, one of the best here.

Yep !

Ian, I think only Nicolas and Sebastien can tell you exactly how long the site has been here. I believe my experience here dates back to about July 2000, with the prior format.

Are you telling me we've split up Muffboxer? - I can't believe its not butter. Oh well, it had to happen sometime.

The first post I ever did make was a complaint about the shitty re-mixes people brought out of New Order songs interspersed with various comments about animal behaviour. In fact, when I think about it... nothings changed on that score.

I remember thinking, I doubt I'll stay long in this place but after a while I became intrigued by the fact that no matter how crazy horse I thought I was, everybody seemed to be un-phased by it... so I thought, well I can be myself here and nobody thinks I'm a chaffinch... well, some people do but that's not too bad a thing being compared to a pleasant garden bird. Then the weeks turned into hours and the days fell into minutes and the wasps began chasing larger hawks and hawks begat chaffinch and chaffinch begat sasquash etc.

That bloke that came on that time kept calling me 'Cuntsman' which I thought was a bit out of new order but then he took it one step further and disgraced the good name of my late cat 'Stephen Grimley'.. which I will never forget.

Best memory on the site so far for me... the day in which several people kept editing their messages to make them sound just a little bit better then somebody noticed what was going on. Even though it had been noticed I still attempted to re-edit a particularly bum message and I was detected... I fucking nearly wet myself.

Huntsy I remember that day well..in fact I can remember who kept re-editing the messages..Frode N. If I remember rightly it was Patsy who took particular offence..very funny.

The Muffy'Hooky Monster/Isolation was probably the strangest incident...

Yes Briggsy, I could never quite get my potato festing head around just why Hungry Monster took such offence to Muffbox... in fact, I never worked out why he got such a bad press... I do remember defending him and he's never done anything in return. ;)

Subsequently Honey Moonbeam seems to have gone at everyone for some reason.. including my good self?.. perhaps he's had a minor blowout and needs to rest his feet.

I've never seen Patty wound-up so much but Frode certainly got his goat. I feel very protective against Pastie and I was considering an attack on Frumpy myself but it all settled after a bit.

I remember some early pieces of dialogue with Huntsy :

Huntsy : Why are you not upset with what I told you ?! Me : How could I be upset when you make me laugh so much ?

Huntsy, let me tell you something :

You got styyyyle You gotta looooove technique

I cannot remember my first post at all, I am sure it was really lame....

as you can see, I've changed my name to something more New Order-related...

Thought I'd celebrate my upcoming 100th post!

"Then the weeks turned into hours..." Huntsy, if that sentence is at all characteristic of your literary style, I think you should finish your book.

I paricularly remember Huntsy's comment about a very long thread that he spent the better part of a day waiting for it to open.

Hasn't this board only been in place maybe's 3 months? The original board was sparse, to say the least. I remember the good ol' days (September) when The Swan (now defunct, it seems) was ominpresent. Think my first post was in reaction to Hunstman saying that ACR went on before the Mondays at G-Mex 88, and did 'weird stuff'. Or something like that? Think it snowballed from there with me, The Swan and Huntsman swapping memories of that fabled gig.

The funniest thing is that when I posted my remarks regarding the aforementionned PICTURE (aherm), Muffy had been a member for a while, and if I hadn't posted that complaint about the picture (which was really a way to start controversy to be honest), then maybe he wouldn't have posted on the forum as of yet!

Wow.

What would it been without him?

Non, mais, LE SAIS-TU, DIS ? :p

Actually, the official release date is shown permanently on the front/welcome page of the site, where the HITS counter is placed, on the left: "xxxxxxxx visitors since DECEMBER 1st 2000".

To be more practical, the site "Temptation, a NewOrder website" with the address "www.neworderonline.com" exists since OCTOBER 2000, but it wasn't complete enough to our taste to make it official, so December 1st was the official launch date that we decided at the time.

The Temptation website itself existed since 1996, with Nicolas only as a webmaster and me contributing sporadically on a non-official basis.

As for the ACTUAL format of NewOrderOnline.com (when we officially dropped the name "Temptation", changed our logo and colors, and added many many many functions and content), it's online since July 23rd 2001. That's the version 2.0 of the site.

We have plans for a version 3.0, but not sure if they will ever see the light of day. Too much work.

I hope it answers your questions regarding the "historical timeline" of the site!

Seb.
