PULP on "LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND"!! (a temporary diversion, this thread)

Well, good old Jarvo and co returned tonight with a plug for their new LP. Intriguing performances, I suppose.

BUT NOT A PATCH ON THE ORDER!!!!

ill have to record the repeat; i do have a soft spot for pulp, although jarvis little..em..idiosyncracies do really grate sometimes.

well i would have watched it, but someone left me totally confused about some stupid 'cryptic teaser' so i completely forgot about it. i'm just bitter cos i didn't win really.

Well Sarah, sorry you didn't get the answer, but, victorious VG has even gone so far as to suggest that I set another one later, she seems to enjoy them for some bizarre reason - not sure if the other folks who have been trying will attest to that, by the sounds of it, you'd think I'd foisted some sort of mediaeval brain torture on them! (especially our dear friend Geoff..) Of course, if you feel like Velocity Girl and would like another bash at something new, you can always let me know here.... but I won't hold my breath too much. Thanks for your contribution anyway. Like they say, every little helps!! Ta! xxxxx

Oh yeah, sorry you missed "Later With JH" - but you can, of course, catch the repeat on Sunday night (or video it) 12.35 am to 1.35 am, just to get your Jarvis fix......hope that helps! …

Haven't heard anything apart from Trees of the new stuff. But I doubt it will measure up to the old classics: My Legendary Girlfriend, Countdown, Razzmatazz, Babies etc. Too much mingling with stars for Mr. Jarvis & Co,apparently. Pulp used to be quite orderish in the good old days. The newer material doesn't have that beautiful sense of despair any more. Jarvis used to be compared with Ian Curtis a lot once too.

(spooky coincidence: Pulp's last three LPs charted at, in reverse order : #6 (2001), #1 (1998) and #1 (1995) and New Order: #6 (2001) ; #1 (1993) and #1 (1989).)
