My modest claim to fame is the RUN2 12" for £2.99 back when it was released (tho' its not THAT rare I know.... Factus CD and TBHOG CDs for a couple of quid each...... IMHO, there is nothing more satisfying than scouring s/h shops and discovering hidden gems for ridiculously cheap prices - sure beats throwing megabucks at stuff on Ebay.........

Apart from the going rate at the time of release eg RUN 2..£2=99p,then it has to be £3 i paid for the CANADIAN BLT with the GATEFOLD cover...SUPERB,HAC FLEXI...nothing ...PRESENT from HUNTSMAN and EGG FAC 53 BROWN from MURV (again a present) which then COMPLETED my 9 COLOUR UK RELEASES of FAC 53.Although NOT RARE it was a great way to complete the 9 after HUNTSMAN had given me the 8th one in BLUE! :thumb::clap:

The very same "Run" 7" DJ promo (this time in a decent black card sleeve) I picked up in Bristol a couple of years ago for a mere £1.50. That HAS to be the bargain of the decade!

Ten cents for a tape of the first part of Substance, but it's not really rare, unless you count that both discs used to be sold separately.

I bought 4 Brazilian BM 88 flexis for less than 3 dollars each. I actually have paid in the local currency, but you got the picture.

No wonder why I gave away one of these to celebrate my 1000th post.

I picked up the Porteguese (or Spanish, can't remeber which) edition of "Movement" and the "True Faith" seven-inch for a combined total of $8.00, as part of a shopping spree in the much-missed Spinning Mule record shop. They were having a going-out-of-business sale, so I also picked up a huge Who poster. I can be such a glutton sometimes :D

I got that one too, but mine cost Free-Ninety-Free because I jacked it from the college radio station and copied it.

I got the cassette version of Substance 1987 with both Cries And Whispers and Mesh on it off my sister for nothing.

In no way is it rare, but I bought the Fine Time single for 10p from Woolworths. Little did I know, that there would be a cracking B-side called "Don't Do It"

I once shoplifted a copy of the Joy Division flexi - does that count?

I got vinyl Unknown Pleasures and Movement and Komakino flexi as gifts from my friend Buco. I tried to repay him in homegrown vegetables, but he wouldn't hear about it.

great answer...don't remember what I paid for the Canadian CD of the 1981-1982 ep...but it wasn't much...5 bucks or so I think...guess that's my claim to fame!

Ah yes I also paid the original asking price about 8 or 9 AUD for my True Faith CDV.

Actually my whole collection was built up paying the original prices. I also own FACUS8 LP, Murder 12" and the Touched by the Hand of God CD single. I don't know exactly how rare they are, but I think that at least in Australia they are quire rare.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to pick up any bargains at second hand shops yet.
