if this is the gig with happy mondays /railway children/acr etc etc supporting...i was about 2 metres away from that photographer...i was right at the front on the barrier...remember hooky saying the place smelled like a cow shed as they came on stage...had to leave before they finshed coz i had to get a coach from victoria station back to nottingham(think new order were on later than they were supposed to)...l8 everyopne...phil...hello julio and the very famous rocket mick
Is that a picture of the band? It seems awfully blurry on my computer. If it is, then is Barney playing the cowbell for TPK? I know on Electronic Ecstacy, it sounds as if he doesn't play the cowbell.
Factory in the Park. Great line up, I was further back in the crowd and attended by myself as is normal when it comes to the Order ![]()

Interesting. They didn't play TPK that day so I wonder what he was using the cowbell for? Blue Monday perhaps, although I seem to remember he actually got behind the drums for that?

al....where were you posted for the day. i remember getting in the tent very early...got a great spot middle/right front and got clouted by a flying bottle during the wait for the order.. we had a mini-bus down from derby...it was a long long day.
I took some pictures of my own but in every single one of them the band seem to be about fifty miles away from me. I should scan them in cos they're better to scale than Darren's photo (shown above) in which he's obviously using a zoom. I moved way back after ACR, as everyone had to, but when New Order came on we seemed to move about 50m in two seconds. Ended up stage front, Gill side, in such a crush that I couldn't squirm out of it for the remainder of the gig. Took my mate Jimmy to his first New Order gig and he backed off after about the first three numbers, and reckoned he was MILES from the stage but when Age of Consent came on the whole place erupted right back to where he was. Shit weather too, from what I remember. Place was already like a bog around the edges when we got there (mid Railway Children).
Halcyon days! ![]()
picture taken by Darren Grubb. There is another of his pictures on the other site. Look under personal photos. For some reason, my pc won't cut and paste the link

Get 'em while you can, as I shut down my netcom account ages ago so thought that webspace would've been swallowed up ages ago.
David did indeed take copies of the pics too, and namechecks Darren on his site.
