THE WAKE: a Factory product.

Please tell me about a genious band called The Wake, "melancholic man" was one of their singles. Links, chats, downloads for a guy needing to Wake.

The Wake were one of my favourite Factory bands from the 80s - but as ever there is very little written about them generally. However, there has always been some interest in this elusive band, and recently a number of decent websites have provided some muchneeded info on their output and indeed their recent whereabouts. Have a look at the links here - they will tell you pretty much what you need to know about their records and how to get hold of them - all of them being reissued on CD for the first time a year or so ago. :)

I wonder if it even exists. The Wake are a very fine band. just bought the LTM-re-release CD of "Harmony", very nice! BTW I would pay a reasonable price for this cassette box. If you have it, contact me ;)

Anyone know any shops where I can buy The Wake CD's in London?

Sadly, this cassette issue of the Factory version was never released officialy - or domestically. The withdrawn box shown is probably a test / promo copy that probably would have changed hands for phenomenal amounts of moolah.

Sister Ray had them on Friday, along with LTM CDs by Section 25, Stockholm Monsters, Crispy Ambulance and lots of other great Factory bands.

Also (for more money) HMV on Oxford Street usually have some. Alternatively get them cheaper on line from Opal Music (sorry, don't know the URL).

First thing I heard by The Wake was Something Outside.

I seem to remember Barney having something to do with the production or guesting on one of the sides???

Or am I (as usual) mistaken?
