Hooky/Hybrid tonight

Oh, fer fuckssake, it's Little Britain on telly tonight!

Shepherd's Bush it is then.

Well, me, the Mrs and Johnny G all rolled up for this one - cheers minus3dB for the tip-off. None of the Hybrid websites mentioned Hooky and for some reason distinctiverecords.com is blocked by my work, so nice spot!

Anyway, cos of the short notice, we can only get seats right up in the Gods, on the 3rd tier no less, but what a view! A virtual helicopter view of the stage! And what can we see in the wings during Hybrid's first three numbers? Only Hooky doing STRETCHING exercises, limbering himself up for those bass lunges! So now you know how he gets so low to the floor!

Talking of which, the lad fronting as Hybrid's lead singer tried to pull a whole succession of Hooky rock poses but he must've been a good 6ft5 and was all gangly limbs so he looked ridiculous when compared to our favourite Guitar Nero.

Hooky eventually joined the band for their final two numbers (they only did five!). He was introduced as a 'Living Legend' for Higher Than A Skyscraper and looked a little less than enamoured with centre-stage billing as he was thrust into the spotlight between the two Hybrid lads whilst the rest of their live musicians left the stage. Everyone returned for the True To From closer but Hooky got his intro totally out of tune and seemed to seek guidance from the other Hybrid bassist as to which notes he should actually play. Got his act together though with a few off the cuff bass riffs then went on to totally dominate the song as it grew into this monster version which just went on and on and on. . .

Can't comment on Kosheen: we'd left by then to catch the end of the Arse and Celtic matches in the boozer next door!

Oh, I forgot to mention - he appears to be growing his hair again. Seems to be in that 'inbetweeny' stage though, very almost bob-like!
