Low-Life...
Don't get me wrong, I love Brotherhood (even though my mind would probably love it more if my CD stopped at Every Little Counts)..
But Low-Life, is the second best in my mind, quite close to Technique.. and for many people it's their best.
Why the hell did they include STATE OF THE NATION and the BLT remix and not the 12" version of Perfect Kiss on the CD... 
Could actually do my own one, with a pretty long Elegia too

Why didn't you do a poll? 
Brotherhood does have it's high points, but it cannot contend with Love Vigilantes, Face Up, and the other perfect tracks on Low Life
I didnae do a poll cos we have already had polls on the albums, singles, covers, posters, biscuits, underwear etc...;)
I was looking for people's opinions on the tracks on the album.
I can't decide between them myself, cos I know I'd change my mind the morra! LL kicks off with one of my favourite NO songs, the majestic Love Vigilantes, with kick ass words from our Barnster, I have a feeling he'd been listening to the Wolfetones a lot round this period:D
TPK needs no describing, I always remember being enthralled by the start of the record when the drums switched speakers TTON I can give and take, I go through stages of loving it....mainly when listening to Live bootlegs of this era. Sunrise is right up there in my Top 10 NO songs, fuckin rocktastic! For Elegia see TTON. Sooner and Subculture and Face Up are cracking tunes as well, and when the lazy bastards get their arses in gear I only hope they bring back Subculture to the Live set!!!
Brotherhood takes a slight change in direction, and it was interesting hearing the new pumped up version of Paradise in 98, brought it back to life. Weirdo is another album track I love, and I always love the thought of Barney dedicating it to Princess Diana, it always cracks me up when I listen to that gig. As It Is, is probably my second favourite New Order song, beautiful track and a live crowd pleaser. Broken Promise carries on where Sunrise left off, in yer face guitars and a shouting vocal. I am running out of time now - gotta go pub. If push comes to shove I'd probably save Low-Life......but only just

No contest. Low Life contains good songs. Brotherhood is the album of a band who had only got half an album's worth of decent material at the time.
Low-Life by a short mile. Vigilantes is a nice poppy song but a little corny, TPK is NO's best song ever (though it's butchered on the album), Sunrise is also one of the very best, TTON is also one of the very best, Elegia is beautiful, I never used to like Sooner but it's been growing on me lately, and Face Up is so-so but spoiled somewhat by weak vocals and a too-happy sound (the ominous intro should've continued through the whole song).
Brotherhood has some choice tracks that are some of the Order's best (Angel Dust, BLT), but also a lot of so-so guitarish songs, All Day Long is choice, and Every Little Counts stinks at the end. Like Technique, some real gems amid the dross.

Low-Life by a country mile.
Personally, there's only one track I'd take off Brotherhood ahead of some of my less favoured moments on Low-Life and that's BLT. The rest just don't do as much for me.
"Low Life", there is absolutely no contest here.
I've never been much a fan of "Brotherhood", it has some good songs but the (over)production spoils this album. "Brotherhood" is a reflection of a time when technology was made fully available but people didn't know what to do with it.
I'm not voting on this one. Low Life is still my favourite, but I appreciate songs like As is is When It Was more and more.
State Of The Nation was not on the original.
I'm gonna be the first to pick Brotherhood, but only by just a very small margin, mostly because As It Is, Weirdo, Paradise and Angel Dust are among my very fave NO tracks. I still listen to Every Little Counts all the way through once in awhile, but I am inclined to pull the needle about halfway through, same as with Elegia on Low-life.
Again, I'm referring to the vinyl versions of the albums, because I hardly ever listen to the SOTN single. Brotherhood is one NO title that I have no plans on purchasing on CD for a long, long while.
Very close, but probably Low-Life in the end: I've always liked Low-Life, whereas Brotherhood has gone up and down in my affections over the years - sometimes I absolutely love it and think it's the best ever and then I'll listen to it a few months later and think it's pretty average - weird I know.
the only thing that stops brotherhood from totally blowing away low life is the weak version of TPK on it as it is when it was, angel dust, paradise, BLT.. ALL GREAT tracks to me the production on low life is better but the feeling of brotherhood is what makes it my favorite
I think the production, vocals and flow of Brotherhood is so much better than Low-life but Low-Life is so much more powerful.
Bro´hood. it´s my fav NO album. BLT, Paradise, Angel Dust and All Day Long just kick ass IMHO. then AIIWIW it´s pleasant and acoustic and Weirdo rocks the hell out. Broken Promise and Way Of Life are the weakest points but they move you from your chair. and Every Little Counts is great, a magnificent joke perpetuated by the more imaginative band in the world. which other immortalized their sense of humour on a record?
Low-life, since it has most of my favorite NO songs on it. Brotherhood seems to stand in its shadow, although there are some good tracks on it. But, lowlife has TPK(although shortened), this time of night, the original sub-culture, and face-up without any mentioning of fur hats.

Call me biased, but I don't their 50% of Brotherhood is crap.. I enjoy each and every track but Angel Dust ;)
Ok Every Little Counts is not a gem, but it's a funny track, but from Paradise to Angel Dust, it's all good IMHO...
Monaco sounds a lot like this album, so maybe Hooky was more involved on this album ?
As expected, Low-Life is preferred by most. Even one of the thread's most celebrated Brotherhood tracks ('As it is When it Was') dates from the Low-Life era.
My theory of the history of that song is that 'The Perfect Kiss' was going to be a non-album single but they were so proud of their work (and perhaps pressured by Warner Bros.) that they decided to edit an album mix to substitute for 'AiiWiW', thus ending the era of non-album-only singles. 'AiiWiW' may have even been titled 'This Time of Night' at this point as it's lyrics contain that line. Of course the song ultimately titled 'This Time of Night' has been referred to as 'Pumped Full of Drugs'.

Nearly, Andy. Let's Go and Skullcrusher were both intended for Low Life, but weren't right when it came to the final stages. Perfect Kiss edit was a late substitute, as they realised they couldn't get away with three instrumentals on the album (as Let's Go's first lyrics just hadn't worked and Skullcrusher was way off completion). As It Is was only written in April 1985, by which time TTON had been named on the album (ok, it hadn't been released, but the sleeve design had been completed). Interestingly, I picked up a rehearsals CD from 1984 which features the Paradise bassline some two years before it surfaced as a song. It may have been an offshoot from the prototype of TTON.

I'd have to go with Brotherhood, it's got cool rocking tracks like 'Way Of Life' and 'Broken Promise' and then of course a forever classic dance track 'Bizzare Love Triangle' and a great ballad 'All Day Long'
Man come to think of it Low-life comes so close I could only choose one over the other at gun point! 
LOWLIFE is probably just a touch better than BROTHERHOOD but i think THE PERFECT KISS should have been the full monty! ROCKET MICK

Brotherhood. Slightly, though. Usually used to listen to it over Low-Life, especially "Weirdo" and "All Day Long" amongst others.
