Anyone know if the Beat Club's "Security" featuring the Barnster was released as a single anywhere?
How rare is this, and how much is my 12" White Label worth:D

Hi...
...as I know, the only remix-appearance of Bernard Sumner is on the Single CD of THE BEAT CLUB 'Security' (Robs Records UK), but not on the several released 12' Vinyls (ZYX Germany, or Atlantic U.S.A., or Pizazz U.S.A., or Champion UK)...
...does anyone agree ?...
Greetz, Floyd Anderson.

Yes it was.. Sebastien has the cassette single, and somebody ripped me the CD single a few years back...
I guess it's rare, never seen it anywhere! altough "The Beat Club" is not something you look in the bins.. do you? ;)
I have the Rob's Records CD-single (CDROB1). The music sounds like Electronic but the deadpan female vocals are awful. They hedged their bets on the Remix/Edit by opening the song with Bernard's backing vocal before you're subjected to the female lead. The b-side's music (which Bernard had no involvement) actually sounds like Vince Clarke-era Depeche Mode but has male vocals that are actually worse than the female's!
I've only hung on to the disc out of respect for Rob.
I've got a Beat Club 12" with Security on it which I picked up at the time of release which I believe has Sumner mix/es (and certainly vocals) but I can't dig it out to check as the collection and I are having a trial separation. Can't recall if there's anything else on the it besides Security.
From leaking memory - a pic sleeve w/ 60s plastic robot on orange plain background with three quarter length white strip running vertically down sleeve & text orientated 90 deg anticlockwise to horizontal on white band.

Can't remember if the remixes are the same, but they are stonking. Not sure about a CD, I really should've bought that at the time.
Yup, there was a CD single, but I don't have it - more info on discogs.com here - http://www.discogs.com/release/194937
1 Security (Remix Edit) remix by Bernard Sumner 2 Security (Remix) remix by Bernard Sumner 3 Security (Dub) remix by Bernard Sumner 4 Rebel Son

l8rs,
Nick ;)
(Edit: Apparently, their full length CD, "Paris", included another Bernard mix "Mancunian Reggae Dub", according to http://www.discogs.com/release/193568)
Cheers guys some interesting stuff that I've not been able to track down before
- I am still a wee bit stuck tho.
My white label 12" is in a plain black cover, and there's no writing anywhere. I have heard the remix where Barney sings at the start - but that's not the version that is on the white label, I have the version where he comes in right at the end. There are 2 songs on the B-side, but I'll have to listen to that again to try and work out what they are. Anyone know how many of these white labels exist?
