I need a Barney

Try any barbers in the North West of England and ask for a number 1 at the back and sides blended in with whats left on top. Always leave enough on top so you can get you parting sorted. If you are really into the look then a few lighter coloured highlights work well, I know as I am sad enough to have tried it out!
bad news lads, saw barney tonite in a preston bar. and u will never believe it hes gone all hippy. yep hair down to his arse and a goatie beard,i always knew it would happen.

i thought exactly the same. i was going to ask: "which hair?" ![]()
well, according to the Rowetta pictures Barney gave up on his highlights too. his hair is brown again! ![]()
of course, i don´t know now. ![]()
Hooky seemed to have highlights now. oh well...
Last time was saw Barney, back at the start of the year, he'd gone for a no.4 crop all over, no hi-lites.
However, saw Hooky 2 weeks ago and he appeared to be growing his hair again - seemed to be cultivating something akin to the combed back 'bob' effect he was sporting for the Festival of the 10th.

I prefer Bernard's haircut from the Joy Division's era. It looked like mine :D
The problem with the Barney Cut is that when you decide to grow it out there is a long arse period of time inwhich your hair will look like total crap. Once hair gets buzzed that short it wants to stand straight. If your hair grows fast like mine does, you need to get it cut every 3 weeks.

hey one step at a time, start with the purple dye first and then we'll take it from there ok? ![]()

One of the few problems I had with 24HPP (other than the half of the film dedicated to Happy Mondays :D ) was the fact that Barney's shown with his "distinctive" cut, highlights and all, in 1978/79, when clearly he still had his natural color and not spiky at all. I concede that you might not recognize "Barney" without the trademark hair, but it just seems slightly anachronistic(sic?) to have his Eighties look in 1978 or so when photos from that era show his hair as much more natural (and longer)
Well, I prefer the Ian cut anyway (short back and sides, trim up top) ![]()

Did you manage to ask him the OBVIOUS question?
And I guess if you did, he replied the OBVIOUS answer... as "when it's ready"...

Speaking of purple die, I dyed my hair purple for halloween, and eventhough I used the spray in stuff, I needed to wash my hair 3 times before the stuff fully came out.

You sure its not grey. Just look at 511 and the 316 interview closely. I do think I see grey shining through on the sides. Thus any colour blonde or brown would be dye.
We all get old some time.
