Originally posted by kamar khan i didnt buy international. i already have substance, best-of, and the box set. i was actually disappointed in retro, with the exception of the live cd and remix cd, most everything else can be found on previous releases on cd. the cure box set at least is all bsides and a few remixes of singles, and they have plans to release the new album sometime next year. the only thing that bugs me is the re-issues of all the albums which will be digitally remastered and contain one extra track (most likely a bside).kamar

My initial understanding is the the Cure re-issues next year will be similar in format to the PSB re-issues. Each LP having a second disc of rare tunes. Great idea, but what will be left to put on the second discs that wasn't on the "Join the Dots" box set?

An unconfirmed Cure rumor is that Mad Bob wants to release the entire Wembley '89 gig (from which Entreat was taken). I've been told that this would take up 4 CDs. Its just a rumor, but I'd like to see it happen.

from the early days they could release stuff like heroin face, desperate journalist, demo's, see the children. there are tons of easy-cure stuff out there. for the faith-17 seconds-pornography era they could release ariel, forever, and carnage visors. there were missing tracks from the bloodflowers sessions and lost wishes which was a cassette only release for wish.

i cant think of much else, the box set covers a lot, but i am hoping the above mentioned will be the bonus stuff for the re-issues.

Best Boxset ever : Heart & Soul - Joy Division

Paid in 3 parcels with my credit card :(

I agree with that. Heart & Soul is probably the best box-set I own. The concept is great and of course the short age the band recorded made it easy to build it.

Yeah Robert mentioned several times that he would like to release the complete third Wembley show from 1989. Which essentially is their greatest concert ever, with the best lineup. It would be fantastic if New Order remastered their albums with bonus tracks. It's just a damn crime that the original 7 inch mixes for Ceremony and Temptation are not on CD. Not to mention they could finally reissue some other 12 inches in their entirety (Perfect Kiss, etc)

Talk about doing things right, I just bought my daughter the new Avril Lavigne dvd. And she did it right. It comes with a concert. A second live cd. All her videos, and a couple other things. And only 17.99 Cad. Now I just have to wait until Christmas to watch it.

That is what I think all bands should do after each cd. Release a concert dvd with all their videos from that cd, so you dont have to wait years to get them all.

And you can't barely wait to watch. Confess it, Jim! :D :evil4:

The Concert was on tv a couple of days ago, on Canadian tv, so I kinda already watched it

It was badly filmed, but she does sound like New Order live. (Because like New Order she really does sing live)And there was nothing special about her concert. Just her on a plain stage, with a screen behind her

Grrr, I was hoping the Cure wouldn't do this, I bet its all stuff I already have bootlegs of, and now have to face the dilemma of whether to fork out for it 'officially'. Probably I'll wait till its remaindered...

Anyway, where's the David Hasselhof box set, eh?

The Cure had some good songs including Just Like Heaven, In Between Days, a Forest and the like. But even a greatest hists album from them, let alone a B-side event for cash, couldn't even measure up to even one good album like Low Life. Besides, they haven't put anything decent out in years. Mr. Smith must be hungry or something. Perhaps he is out of makeup !

I can't stop playing their catchy song "Lovecats"; and everything off Pornography sounds pretty damn good, but this is probably just a phase for me that I will grow out of. :p

Or will be shot out of you..... :evil4: There should be a rehab forum for people like me that have strayed away from NO only to be taken advantage of the appealing makeup of Bob :evil4: . We need a 12 step program for Cure fans to help them.

Give those a listen and come to the dark side...

When we said "you need pornography" it was masturbation assistance literature that was meant, not the recorded load of wank from Fat Bob and his jolly band of troubadors !

And were his troubadours ever jolly? They must have just spent their time thinking, "Fuck, here comes fatso. Am I going to be sacked?".

Originally posted by Spotnick THE CURE have announced they will release a four-disc box set featuring B-sides and rarities early next year. The box set, entitled ’Join The Dots: B-Sides And Rarities’, covers the bands work from 1978 to 2001, and features 71 tracks, including covers of Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze, and The Doors’ Hello I Love You'.

for those interested..

it's NOT an 'official' release, but i'm working on a 4-disc set for new order with 77 tracks on it..

Those thoughts are why the band members never stay in the band :evil4:

Yes, we exist.

No he isn't. But he might win if he ran.
