Was it shared in three or four parts inside the band ? :skeptic:

God only know how Gillian got an equal share. Did she make the tea also?

Mike, I reckon she pulled in a few punters on her own, so she deserves every penny as far as I'm concerned.

5 ways. Rob was 20% of the band.

It's academic because it all got spent on the Hacienda anyway!

(By the way, Mike is looking foxier every day, don'tcha think?)

Oh do come on Mike. Is she not worthy of at least that on her guitar performance on Ceremony on Taras Shev alone? :D

Gillian 'Seiko' Gilbert.

How much money does each band member have now?

What business is it of anyone's?

They should have enough to live comfortably and of course cash will continue to roll in 'cos JD and NO product will always sell.

Remember the Hac has been gone for about a decade now and all accounts there closed and I'd imagine therefore NO's financial responsibilities.

I'd expect that Unknown pleasures will do about 200,000 copies in the 25th year of it's release and provided it gets a push should bring in a pleasant sum.

So when you think about it, 50% of the band's money would go to Steve & Gillian?

I've always wondered how it works.. I know the bands always state everybody participate in the creation process, but still, if I were in a band, the factor of "would the band survive without that member?" would be the main factor... (?)..

Like, what would U2 be without Bono?

But in New Order's case, we clearly saw Barney & Hooky had a good potention outside of New Order (The Other Two had a few good songs, but not as solid as the other side projects), but they still are better together.

Anyways, at one moment, it was probably 80% Factory, 20% the band

Five members (4 in band plus management) means that Steve and Gillian got 40% of the amount the band chose to pay themselves. Obviously a lot went into things like a studio, a club, a bar, Ryder's nose......

U2 without Bono would still be shit :evil4:

Revenge/Monaco...solid what exactly?

The opening bars of the first Electronic album illustrate perfectly where the talent lays.

Just my opinion of course.

I am willing to accept that all member of NO contributed equally, as they often stated. What was missing from Get Ready if not Gillian's sublime synth playing.

It is a highly skilled job inserting floppy's into an emulator, Gillian must be loaded.

Are you saying that Gillian just inserts other people's floppy's? On stage?

The band were, at least once, millionaires. Part of the London deal in early 1993 included a back payment of all outstanding royalties Factory hadn't yet paid (a sizable sum, to say the least). That said, by early 1995, Hooky was a few grand overdrawn, according to his NME questionnaire.

Probably because they were found on New Order's AppleMac.....and had been intended as New Order songs.

Probably because they were found on The Smiths AppleMac....and intended for The Smiths songs! and don't forget the first few bars of the first Electronic album are played on guitar! plus, the style of guitar playing is not exactly Barney's! so there!

Without wishing to urinate on your pyre, the tracks from the first Electronic album were indeed found on New Order's Mac when it was won in a competition after the release of Technique. Barney had written them and intended them to be used as New Order songs. Ask Jonny Lucas for full details, he has the Mac in his possession. There's a full thread about it on here in the archive if you care to look.

Pictures can be found online.

Plus, Gillian did write Dream Attack, didn't she? or the "Gillian's Accoustic One" work title was a joke..

Well, it's all a matter of taste, but I think songs like What Do You Want From Me, Shine and possibly Kashmere are as solid as New Order songs...

Sure, it's diluted, but it was still a good quick fix for the New Order addiction.

I don't care much about Revenge though...
