This time of night question

In the end, about 4:22 into the song - what is Bernard saying? I have been trying to hear it but maybe he isn't saying something?

Can someone tell me???

He's certainly saying something and untill this very day i am still trying to figure it out. I think it's the best part of the song. If only i knew what was being said/sung .I'll be waiting as well for someone to come with the answers. Cheers

If you ever come across the 'Leeds Tiffany's' gig. from 1985 in which 'What Time is Nice' is played with outstanding precision... you will hear an elongated ending which highlights the following:

"Whatever you may do to me, Don't crucify my dignity."

It is this 'live' version which rumbles the songs 'true' lyrical content as Bernard repeats the ending 'acapella' for about 30 seconds. After this experience you can then follow Bernard's diction quite easily throughout the official recording of Low-Lights.

Huntsman, I didn't mean that part. Follow my intructions and listen to the song again. Somewhere around 4:19, bernard says something, like mumbles it, but there is some kind of echo on it too. It's maybe one or two words..

I seem to remember Barney shouting at Steve Morriss during one of New Order's live BBC transmissions for many years back (I think 1984 or 1985) to speed his drums up on one of thei songs they were playing. So it'sprobably quite possible that Barney is shotuing somthing at Hooky in a similarr fashion....oh, well, at least I've tried haven't I?

Aww I was sooo hoping that you'd hear it. But I guess there's nothing to do about it. I swear, the meaning of life is hidden behind what Bernard says those last few seconds.... Now we'll never know... *sigh* :)
