Due to the large response to these polls I am managing to get them out quite frequently.

Before anyone moans - State of the Nation IS NOT on Brotherhood - it was a bonus track on the CD!

Doh, wonder what'll win this one?

Wonder if it can scale the dizzy heights of Dreams Never End and total more than the rest of the album grouped together?

Toss up...very hard choice here Slippy:scratch: But I went in favor of Weirdo...by a hair. But I real like the whole album. I may get some grief over this, but it is my humble opinion that BLT (while not bad mind you) is the worst track on BH. That's the gist!!:thumb:

Every little counts, again this was a vinyl purchase and in terms of just makin me smile, its gotta be this. Ya see Mrs garymac sings out of key, yet on this track, it matters not a jot when she joins in... no idea why:shrug:

All Day Long, one of their most sublime and majestic songs.

Well well well. This album again. The let-down. Half-produced half-songs, a band low on ideas.

Paradise - poor parody of older numbers with banal lyrics. Weirdo - stripped bare of any power it may have had live As It Is When It Was - half-decent version Broken Promise - same as Weirdo, they gutted the song Way of Life - a pisstake of several of their older songs BLT - the only one they actually got right All Day Long - should have been an instrumental. Cringeworthy lyrics and vocal delivery. Angel Dust - not bad, better live than on record though. Every Little Counts - abject embarrassment. A fookin' sad way to end a disappointing album. The joke was on all us coonts who paid them money for it !

I voted BLT.

This was a rushed album hence the poor quality but the stand out for me was Angel Dust. BLT has been overplayed live now. I still liked ADL though. ELC was a waste of vinyl hated it!

It was ! I have never felt so disappointed by this band than I did when I slapped that bit of vinyl on for the first time. I'd known half of these songs in a live setting for well over a year, and all the power of the live rendition had been sucked out of them on record. Gutted.

At the time I played Turn The Heater On from the Peel Sessions more than Brotherhood.

Wow. I actually go through phases where I think this might be my favorite. I snap out of it quickly, but there are those moments. There's some sublime stuff on here All day long, BLT, Way of life, Paradise (I always thought this sounded like the pointer sisters circa 1980). For me I think it and Technique are the 2 albums whose songs are better on record than they are live. It's like the sleek (over)production masks the unfinished nature of the song. Anyway, I like most of the songs on this album and the one I like the most is All Day Long. Tough vote as unlike on Low-life and TPK, this is the best version of BLT.

A badly produced album (just listen to Angel Dust) but it provided a couple of NO highlights including BLT and my personal favourite PARADISE.

BLT for me. No other track comes close, although Angel Dust is another of those low-profile NO album tracks, like Ultraviolence, which come to life "live".

Voted for Way of Life here, but BLT almost made it.

Paradise - easy really.

Discounting BLT, the best track here has to be Angel Dust, so that's what I went with. But most all of the tracks are decent listens. One of the strongest NO albums. Much better than Technique, that's for goddamn sure.

Yeah, that's how I read this too? Why 'discount' BLT? We're voting for the best track, surely, and not the runner-up?!
