Hadn't realised that these are two completely different tracks. When I saw that The Wilding was going to be on the new LTM Revenge CD, I assumed it was a re-recorded version. However, thinking back, I got the "original" version off the Monaco website. Same title, same singer, different bands so different song.

Not terribly interesting. Sorry.

I had no idea. Shows how on the ball I am ! I'd assumd they were one and the same. Could there be a mix-up on the listings on the site or something ?

Haven't got my version of OTP 2.0 yet. Are the versions of The Wilding and Televive on OTP 2.0 the same as the versions on James Nice's free CD-R that went to those that ordered the set from LTM?

I'm confused here as well, got the cd yesterday and recognised two tracks as being on a compilation Rocket Mick sent me. However, what he calls The Wilding by Revenge is actually called Underworld on the official cd, and what is called The Wilding on cd1 sounds very similar to Underworld, at least vocally. Or am I imagining this?

Well spotted! So The Wilding by Monaco is actually Underworld by Revenge.

What IS going on?!

Got the CD today, nice, altough I don't see the point of the CDR if the songs are on the CD itself...

Well, sounds like a new album to me.. as I've never heard the original minus the singles.

Anyone knows why Phil Cunningham is credited?

Email either Ally Murray or James Nice, you'll know soon...

I have sent a mail to James Nice. Indeed it's weird, plus I never knew David Potts wrote with Revenge, I thought he was a roadie..

He's credited for tracks 1 to 6...

Still wonder why they released some tracks as "Revenge", but still, we don't mind.

Actually Televive and The Wilding are good tracks.. this is my New Order fix for a while

I suspect Phil Cunningham played guitar on the new tracks, hence the credit...

Exactly.

And the promo, I believe he's sending it to everyone who orders from LTM. Not just those that order the Revenge CD.

Also noticed that Pumpkin (by Revenge) was originally on the Monaco website as Microbes...

Answer from James Nice:

I have no idea - PH did all editing on the CD set

So we'll never know unless we ask Peter...

As for Pumpkins, are you sure? I remember the 4 tracks where Microbes, Smoothie, The Wilding and Glassbox...

I can confirm that as well, because on earlier mentioned compilation I've had to score out Microbes and rename it Pumpkins according to official cd.

which poses another question: there's another two tracks which may not be what it says they are ?! Glassbox - lyrics like 'I never wanted to be like this, like a boy in search of a perfect kiss ...' (I know this PK is becoming an obsession  ) Ultra - lyrics like .. oops it's an instrumental  very catchy though

anyone?

I know for sure that I have been asked to remove those 4 songs because they were supposed to be release.. so here you got two....

I too thought the Monaco track was an update of the old Revenge one - still it was cool to grab those audio files that were put up a year or so back of the four exclusive Monaco tracks....even if one of them was Happy Jack rewritten.

and I never even knew I had something exclusive

Sat down to listen to this last night.

Quality to hear the Vikings just when you're not expecting it! Got a shock there! Bit harsh on the drummer from wherever though, when Hooky says he can't remember his name! Bet he's gutted by that one..
