This is a scan of the cover of my Movement CD. The vertical blue bar in the middle is at the bottom, not the top! That's not right!
Are they all like this? More to the point, why has it taken me ten years to notice...

Just checked mine. The bar is at the top, same as the vinyl. Info on the back says Copyright CentreDate Co Ltd 1981 but is a London Records release (it was the last one I bothered getting on CD, only about 4 years ago, when the record player died).
CD+Vinyl both bar on top; CD just bought recently (2 yr ago?). Probably stupid question but ... why does it say "FACT.50 1981" on the vinyl cover and "FACD.50 1981" on the CD cover? On the promotion leaflet in the CD box it shows "FACT.50 1981" for the CD?
Is it a UK release, or...? More info would help.
The US CS has the bar at the bottom. There is also a reissued US CD (Rough Trade) with a misspressed cover - I can't remember what the misspress was all about, perhaps this...

I own a recent re-issue made in Germany and the cover of the CD is right. Clive got a mispressing, there's no sense at all an artwork like that. The two vertical bars and the horizontal one at the top are supposed to look like a "F" for Factory and the vertical bar and the horizontal one at the bottom a "L" for 50 (a reference to Fact50 in Roman numerals).
T. it's the UK Centredate one. Can't remember exactly when and where I bought it, but sometime in the mid 90's from somewhere in the south of England.
Mispress eh? I should sort out an e-mail: "Dear Mr Sultan, I'm writing to offer you a once in a lifetime chance, the cost to you a mere $1000 US...."

Mines is the same, at the bottom it has Made In Germany by Warner Manufacturing Europe.
Clive - I had the same cover as yours on a Movement cassette, although it was an Austrian import I think. I gave it to ma wee cousin who posts on here (Stubbsy)
Mine has the vert. bar at top center, says facd.50 1981 and is on qwest records, but also has the factory logo.

Just checked my Japanese vinyl copy that I have (Only one on vinyl I have actually) and it agrees with Sir One Brain's description.

The "FACT" pre-fix was for LPs, "FACD" was for the CD versions.
Mine has the bar at the top and like Tim's is a mid-90s Centredate re-issue.
Mine's cover is green, site's discography says it's UK vinyl 1st version. Is it rare/ valuable ? I've bought it from a street seller, so I don't know for sure where it came from.
This whole sleeve issue got me puzzled... So here I am at my dad's record store, with two movement cds, one has the bar on top, the other at the bottom 
. The thing is they were both made in Germany by PMDC and are both circulated by the same label...
I've been examining them for the past half hour and, except for the position of the bar, they are identical....
So is this "bar at the bottom" a rare misprint or what?
Ok... I just spotted the only difference between them:
The "bar on top" has the code number 520018-2 written on the back side. The "bar on bottom" has nothing....

This is the London Records catalog number, so what? you have a Factory reissue and a London reissue?

wait im confused i got two movement cds and one has 51 and the other has 50....im lost? is it rare?
I checked mine and it's the normal one... canadian edition...
It says "FACT 50 1981" not "FACD." ...
I just love the fact (pun) that the word FAC still appears on the cover.
Why are London Records/Datacentre whoever they are claiming copyright going back to 1981 or the date the original issues came out, and not the date they actually took over publishing rights?
