Hey Nuts - this is just a belated reply to your earlier thread regarding the EBay scamster... I read that whole thread with interest earlier whilst on my lunch break but because this forum is so goddam effing slow lately I couldn't even get my reply to show up even after about twenty attempts at posting it - countless refreshings of the page didn't work either (fuck only knows what was going on - server problems again?) - and now I find to my annoyance the thread has already been locked just when I was hoping to add my little bit towards it ..... I can fully understand why you'd gone nuts - whole hazelnuts! - over this particularly unpalatable episode simply because a friend of mine was also fleeced well and proper by a similar prankster who was selling loads of Velvet Underground "exclusives" on EBay a few months back. This is the main problem with avid collectors who depend on EBay so much to find their elusive stuff, sooner or later they get ripped off...... I myself seldom use it at all precisely because of the potential for people like this dodgy Gaz geezer abusing his privileges in such a manner, so I stay well clear now.... Anyway, glad to hear you got your refund sorted out, but I can't help but think that the moment you posted up his address on the thread in a fit of anger, the floodgates for all manner of shit heading in his general direction may well and truly have been opened....which gives some of us a kind of smug satisfaction somewhat... ;)

i did get a bit hot inder the collar there for a while! i dont use ebay that much myself now,just need one or two more things to nicely finish my collection off. where i can,i usually trawl the web for the remaining items,but if i see them on ebay i usually go and bid for them. looking on the music sites gives me a lot more satisfaction than getting outbidded or ripped off on ebay. fair play to that gaz bloke,he still says that he got the cds from a record shop in manchester,who knows! i'll just have to give him the benefit of the doubt i suppose! when i get my refund that is!

That's good to hear then ...all I can say now as a precautionary is: once bitten twice shy.... I hope you'll be careful in future and don't let these rip-off merchants get the better of you or your wallet again! :)
