A New Order song that changed your life?

I will say that Age of Consent was a life-changing song in that it made me a New Order fan for life.

I fell asleep once listening to Shell-Shock,was 2 hours late for a date & missed my chance with a top bird.

Regret at Reading 98 was life changing for me. My first new order gig on my 18th birthday (nearly :D). Never forget that feeling when the song kicked in, still gives me chills!

You take that back Shellshock is a fine piece of music. It still reminds me of Molly Ringwald ( ) and those cool 80s John Hughes' films!

Temptation has always been special to me, have many fond memories when I hear it that relate to specific times im my life.

Its great on the Best Of,but that 12" is just sooooo long. John Hughes you say,he was a legend till he made Curly Sue & Home Alone.

Well they make me HAPPY so i guess they ALL have changed my life when i first hear them.But probably when i first heard THE PERFECT KISS and i got back into them in a BIG way.Memories............

Well, Blue Monday actually changed my life! :) As I've already written, it's the song which definitely converted me from a JoyDivisionOnly goth into A New Order Fan.

joy division tracks changed my life in the mayflower with john the postman

Ceremony changed my life because it, along with the rest of Substance, introduced me to a whole new range of music.

well, BM probably changed mine since it got me into the order in the first place, but i've since developed a stronger unity with joy division's music.

Substance had little effect on me upon first hearing it, I'd heard a local bay area DJ prop it, and so I grabbed a copy from the library and while intrigued, I wasn't won over. That summer of '89 I'd been listening to R.E.M., N.W.A, The Sugarcubes, Information Society, really rap and mod, after finally having been won over to the mod scene the previous spring.

However about four months later I heard the original BLT for the first time and was completely won over. I suppose my growing fondness for mod music had really begun to build a revisionist interest in my original response to New Order. Anyway, like the thread starter it was Age of Consent (first hear while riding my bike the following spring to a baskeball game), and listening to Technique in Maui which finally, completely won me over entirely.

Let's just say that I had a 'Life Altering Experience' a few months ago...and well TF was there at the right time to say the right words.

Blue Monday. The song that got me into the Order back in 1983. It broke the Adam And The Ants spell.

Ermm none really, although I cant remember getting as excited about a forthcoming single as I did with Regret. People harp on about the importance of the release of Crystal, but it didnt have so much of an impact personally, most likely due to the fact that I was nearly 10 years older

true faith. it was the song that got me into NO, and for that i am eternally grateful.

True Faith was the 1st Neworder song I heard and remains my favourite track of all time.

Its place at the top was recently cemented in a Sir Chunks like time in my life, when it reminded me of what I needed to know.

Definately True Faith, the video and the mindbendingly addictive bass line. I was a New Order junkie from day one.

Day One refering to my experience with them, not their Day One of course :)

It's qute difficult to think of one particular song that changed my life, as they have soundtracked my life since my teens. Possibly Ceremony, as it was the first New Order song I heard, and it was great to finally have something in my ears that told me what Joy Division had achieved hadn't died with Ian.
