...two favourites:
MISSY ELLIOTT - Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) and THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - Venus In Furs,
but I voted for MISSY ELLIOTT, who knows why...
The Saviour
My vote goes to Energy Flash, which I think was re-released last year. I certainly remember dancing to it in my favourite club then. :)
Can't go past the primitive electro doodlings of Giorgio Vs Talla 2XLC's E=MC2
Dig the shout outs to Moroder, Faltemeyer, whoever made the coffee, etc, classic stuff.

Nice.
I have the original vinyl pressing tucked away somewhere. Think it's worth a bit of coin these days.

You wish, the original Transmat pressing with orange labels? I have one,Its mint but only worth about £7. And thats the rare one-chances are you have the Italian import from 91,most people do. a fiver at most. As you might of noticed i know more about house music than i really should do!

Eh,Beltram Vol.1 (energy flash) on Transmat records from Chicago not a house record? Which copy have you got,the R&S belgian pressing?
Depends on which definition of house you're using, I guess. The definition has evolved a lot over the years.
All I'm saying is that there are a lot of classic techno sounds in that track.

Doves are one of my favorite groups, and I do like M62 song a lot so I went with it. I've heard the compilation in full and even with these other good tracks, I think it still stands out.

What is back to mine anyway? apart from an excuse to hand sleeve design over to a group of two year olds.
Back to Mine is a compilation series put out by DMC. www.dmc-world.com
The series started as an opportunity for house/progressive house DJs to spin a laid back and eclectic mix, but DMC suddenly shifted to artists and having the artists compile and mix the comps with the artists choosing their favorite tunes. The amount of licensing it takes to clear these songs seems to be amazing work since there are a lot of eclectic tracks on these latter comps. Most Back to Mine volumes tracks are mixed together with cross-fading.

pretty crap cover. and they try to flog tshirts of the cover
Way too many good things on this one, about the only track I skip from time to time is the Cat Stevens one. Today the choice is Roxy's track, though tomorrow would probably be Energy Flash, and the day after that Missy Elliot. *sigh*

what they did to mrs sumner , hook, and morris on the cover is horrible though.
they have a band out now doing a techno version of Love Is The Drug,by,get this- "Ritzy Music". I swear i saw it in HMV.![]()
