Now Buster... that last comment could be read in many ways...

Originally posted by Muffy Listen Marty, your posts (rants) are amongst the most entertaining here, you have plenty to say. Sometimes you talk sense, sometimes utter garbage but usually always entertaining. I'm sure when your 1000th comes, and it will be soon, you'll have something worth reading to say. One thing though, please end this talk of wanting to die that has crept into your posts of late, it really gets on my tits, nothing could be that bad! :smoking:

Thing is.....if only you knew the long and short of what it's like to live where I do - completely surrounded on all sides by the scummiest scum and the most apathetic boring and downright one-dimensional tediously small-minded people you can imagine - and feel unable to do something about it to make it easier for me to get out of this hell-hole. That's why I was so happy and chilled when I was in Amsterdam....(and no, it certainly wasn't solely due to the spliffs either)....and so naturally tossed off when I had to come back here afterwards [check most of the commentary on my "De Tijd Is Nu!!" post to see what I'm getting at]. If you think Glasgow can be a bit much, you haven't lived in this part of Manchester for 13 years yet!! Maybe we should swop places for a bit! Hmmm.

See? I told you you'd hate it. The city's SO overrated!! The people are shite actually. And dead ugly (except me, though I'm no silk painting either, I'm talking relative here!!!) It's a wonder it had so much to offer musically in the past - but then Glasgow's given us some fucking great bands too: ignore all the empty stadium shit like yer Simple Minds and yer Deacon Blues and poppy pap like Wets (and now, Travis - tho I can take them in small doses), you've given us Aztec Camera, The Mary Chain, The Orchids, The Trash Can Sinatras, The Wake, Primal Scream....need I go on...? And yep - you're right, keeping my ire in relative containment by chatting to everyone on this board is a great way of getting shit off my chest.......and, yeah, sometimes I can have a laugh too, so, in this context, things aren't too bad........but the world outside my door does stink, and we can't really change that, sadly.

Cheers! :) :smoking:
