Which version of Ruined in a Day is this?

I saw the BBC Top of the Pops clip where New Order played Ruined in a Day, and it sounded much different to the version on the album and video.

In 93, Did New Order play a different mix of RIAD live? Is this version available anywhere? I really liked. it had a cool trip hop feel.

It´s probably the "Reunited in a day" mix by K-Klass.

K-Klass remix, "Reunited In A Day". Not hard to find...

Though technically I believe the performance you mention they used the K-Klass edit of that mix, which is. (Hard to find, I mean)

They used to do the album version live, but for some reason did the K-Klass edit just on Top of the Pops.

At Reading 93, 'Ruined' started the set, with the beginning chords of the 'Ambient Mix' as an intro, slowly evolving into the album version, which was a good way to start the set on a hot August night.

Then at Liverpool 2001 the Ambient intro was scrapped and they just launched into the LP version. Preferred the intro to be honest.

Was the Reunited mix only available on the Digipack, i dont THINK its on my single version although i may be mistaken. What about 12" and DJ Mixes?

The Ambient mix is also a cracking mix, shame about the bogle mixes

And for completeists don't forget the promo 12", featuring the Reunited Instrumental.

My personal favourite is the Rejuvinated in a jiffybag mix

Reuinited is the only version worth it's salt as far as I'm concerned. I actually used to like the live version back then.

Reunited was on the first cd but as for Sly & Robbie what a f&ck%n waste of a cd.

Don't remember that - but do remember Peter "Doctor Livingstone, I presume" Hook in safari wear. All he needed was the Pith helmet.

The jacket was North Sails,99% on that cos i had a very similar one. K.Klass remix is on the standard UK cd single,& the US cd single of World.

It's commonly called the K Klass mix, even thought it was called the 'Reunited in a day remix' on the original single mix - 'tis the same thing.

The easiest way would be to buy the Rest Of New Order album... although some of the remixes are shite there are some pretty good ones on there, most notably the K-Klass Mix of Ruined In A Day, the Perfecto Mix of World, and the Biff & Memphis Mix of Touched By the Hand Of God. Or of course you could try hunting out the single with the remix on it... I'll be putting it on Ebay soon!

You can see from the VIDCLIP that its live. Never was too sure what Hooky was actually doing when they played this one. Or anything else off Republic for that matter...

He even managed to buy a new MusicMan Stingray 5-string bass especially for World though, so he could reach the only bass note in the song ! There is at least a bit of bass on Rugrat.

There's also a 3:55 edit of the remix on the UK CD5 promo. I seem to remember that edit being available elsewhere, but I'm not sure where.
