Plan to use the 12 inch or a video version of TPK, and the full length Elegia.

Is there another song I need to add to this project??

Depends what you want. I could suggest to include Let's Go, but which version, even the the Demo is quite good. Instrumental Sooner or is that Sunrise could also be a nice fit.

I am thinking about that demo but my copy of it sounds like crap.

Mine is probably the same as yours.

There's also a remix of Love Vigilantes. Check out the link in the German forum Digitale Republik under the heading Some Feedback Please.

There is a version of Paradise on RETRO I think in the Dance disc that is very good. Check it out if youre not sure what i mean.

Doing Low-Life, not Brotherhood. I do like Paradise, however. Will prolly keep the album version of Vigilantes do to time constraints.

Don't forget the classic "The Perfect Pit" the two 7" mixes of The Perfect Kiss and the remixes of Sub-Culture and Dub-Vulture

Always thought the full length mix of Eliga would have been better put on the b.side of TPK. Low-Life is ok as it is.

Here's what I put together:

  1. Elegia (album version)
  2. Love Vigilantes (album version)
  3. The Perfect Kiss (a 7'05" composite mix, containing the first 2'23" of the album version, then 2'43" of the 12" version, and then the final 1'59" of Kiss Of Death)
  4. This Time Of Night (album version)
  5. Sunrise (album version)
  6. Let's Go (original vocal version, from a very good mp3)
  7. Sooner Than You Think (album version)
  8. Sub-Culture (a 7'56" edit of the Sam West Mix, from the In Hindsight I disc - really just a fade out, straight into
  9. Face Up (album version)

Then, after 20" of silence, I put:

  1. Elegia (Full version off Retro V)
  2. Sub-Culture (album version - didn't want to give this one up)

I managed to bring the three different mixes of Perfect Kiss (all of which have different EQ settings) more or less in line with each other by fiddling around with the Graphic Dynamics function in SoundForge.

Total playing time: 71'59"

It's amazing how many people are upto similar things, once I get the BEST OF Electronic finished, the next project is to do all the albums in a LIVE / RARE / REMIX format. If I was to do Low-Life, I'd definitely have the Rock Around The Clock version of Sooner!!! TPK would be the original 12" Sub-Culture would be live from Finsbury Park 87 etc... I'd definitely have Lets Go on it as well, dunno about the 17 and a half minute Elegia though:thumb:

Making all-live versions of the albums is another great idea, but may be a bitch to put into practice, what with all the different recording levels for different concerts (remember the trouble Geri had with "From Cock to Kiss"). Good luck to you!

the record mirror version of subculture could go on - its fairly shor & better than the official single imo.

 It could definitely prove to be a problem - I have Nero (thanks DoN) which can change audio files to NEARLY the same levels. When I get that project off the ground - I'll be letting a few of them go to the good people who have sent me stuff in the past:thumb: I really need a computer which holds more memory - mines is only 12gb, so I cannae store all my live stuff:\ohwell: I do have all my neworder mp3's on it though, cos I'm always doing something for myself or some of the lads n lassies on here:beer:

Hibster - That is my favourite neworder remix matey:nod:

Well, that is the same version as the Razormaid! Sam West Mix that I used, only my edit runs on a bit longer (the full Sam West mix goes on for about nine minutes, but the last minute is just boring and repetitive, so I left it off).

Live wise I was thinking about the Altlanta Fox theatre gig for Sunrise and Sooner Than you Think. Pretty kick ass IMHO.
