Just received an email saying ACR are likely to have a 'Best of' album out in the New Year and a gig to coincide with it. It also says they will release an official live bootleg soon.

Apparently the ACR:MCR website has now been updated as well.

Jarvo - did you get this update from Urbanite? BTW I text'd you about the Chameleons on the 30th - I'm afraid I can't make it as Blues play the Gills that Friday evening otherwise I would of gone. Do you fancy going to see JTQ at the Jazz Cafe? There doing a one week residency up to 22 Dec. You can't beat a bit of funky hammond organ!

That sounds like good news. I was convinced they'd split up ages ago...They haven't brought anything out for years. I remember their back catalogue was reissued on Creation records for some strange reason. Funny though, I used to be a real big fan, until their last few albums...they started blanding out a bit too much for my liking. I think MCR:ACR was probably their last really good record, and that must have been about the same time as I first really got stuck into New Order.

Their last release 'Change the Station' (released about '96?) wasn't bad either. Similar in vein to ACR:MCR but a tad more laid back. It has about 6-7 quality tunes on it that are worth checking out. A couple are on the www.acrmcr.com website 'Yeah Boy' and 'Samba 123'.

Not too sure about JTQ, though will think on it. Must do an Xmas drink somewhere, mind, and get JG out. Only really doing the Chameleons cos (a) I know f'all about them, and (b) will be nice to see Alex etc again.

Not too sure about the new ACR single - features Denise Johnson but is a tad bland. Still, will be good if they do some gigs again. I can see a trip to the Subterrania looming!

Nice one, i've been checking their website a few times. Good to hear its updated. Another great Factoryband that will continue to show the world what music realy is about!(getting drunk and high :lol: )

Shame you can't do The Chameleons Mickey. Still, I understand the lure of taking up your place in The Zulu's heirarchy comes above all else.

As Al says, it would be good to get some pre xmas beers in somewhere.

Are you doing Pulp this Wednesday on the off chance? Might head for The Beehive again, although it will never be the same.

Hi JG! Not doing Pulp but quite fancy Fun Livin Criminals who are playing Brixton in Dec. Anyway we should arrange a pre-Xmas drink. Perhaps in the Embassy Bar in Islington where you can get Mr Disco, Komakino and Disorder cocktails amongst others!

On the ACR front managed to pick up an interesting 12" from Souljazz Records when I was doing my Xmas shopping yesterday. It has their original recording of Shack Up on one side and Being Boiled by the Human League on the other side.

The guy in the shop said there was some sort of compilation coming out in the New Year (not just ACR stuff) 'In the begginning there was rythmn' or something...might be intesting.
