Well, if New Order were to do a cover, which song do you think will suit them...and also which song you think you'll like them to do.. I think the only cover I'm aware of is VU's Sister Ray, live.

I think NO suit playing U2's Stay ( Faraway, so Close ) and of course numerous Cure's numbers.

I like to see NO play Hot Chocolate's Emma, at least Hooky wouldn't need to learn anything.....

The Blisters of Percy used to do Emma back in the early-mid 80s. Improved the somg considerably IMHO.

New Order have also covered "Do The Ostrich" by the Velvets, again live, and once encored with "Anarchy in the UK", at the Greek Theatre, Berkeley, California. They did "When I'm With You" by Sparks at Milan in 1982.

I'd like to see them do a cover of a Joy Division song. That would be a novel idea. Maybe Incubation.

Uh? New Order have covered Joy Division songs for years! LWTUA, Isolation, Transmission, Atmosphere... This is no novel idea at all!

Unless they get Paula Abdul on to help.....

Well, it would be especially funny with Stephen and Hooky. I mean, with Barney, we're already used to crazy dance routines !

Oh, yeah...I forgot. The Pumpkins!! How about the entire Machina!! I really thought it was NO-sounding...in fact it's probably Gary Numan fronting Hooky & Stephen...Billy & Barney has gone to the pub.

Irony mate :)

I hate them doing JD stuff every other song these days. It used to be a real treat years back, now it's completely different, sort of cheapens the old memories to me.

The Cure's "BOYS DON'T CRY"

I've always thought that was a New Order'ish tune.

know what you mean............. They have the right to play'em......coz they wrote'em,but without Curtis they don't have the same desperation.

I saw the Mission (no, before you ask, I didn't actually pay for the ticket :)) do Like a Hurricane live. Completely killed a song I used to like.

When they rebuilt the Hac, that was the perfect time to release "This ole House" by Shakin Stevens, and the video would have Barney dancing around singing that everything was falling down, with Hooky in the background with a big fuck-off chainsaw going "bananas" with a wicked grin, and Steve & Gillian behind the bar drinking straight from the optics, at the end you could have Tony Wilson sat outside with his head in his hands crying about the good ole days.

Voodoo Ray would be spendid by the Order. Plus, no lyrics for Barney to fuck up just some ooohs and aaahs from Gillian!
