Some months ago i´ve got a uk 12inch promo of world, 3 tracks. I know there´s a 2x12inch promo out (i´ve got this last week) and the first 12" is identically to the one from the double set. Could it be, that the first 12inch released seperately ? I saw it also a few times on ebay, only as 12".

Um, Yes, that would be the case. Out of interest, what are the other three tracks, just remixes?

Two questions:

  1. What is the exact track-listing? The New Order Discography list the promo as:

2x12": UK 1993 (London/CentreDate Co Ltd. NUOXDJ 3) [promo] [Disc 1] 7:33 World (perfecto mix) 5:56 World (the sexy disco dub mix) [Disc 2] 8:03 World (the brothers in rhythm mix) 5:39 World (the brothers dubstrumental) 5:51 World (world in action mix) 7:06 World (pharmacy dub) [black die-cut sleeve]

And my copy is stored away...

  1. Are you sure the dubstrumental is shorter? Have you timed it, or do you just look at the label? Recently I started a thread (http://www.neworderonline.com/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=15778) discussing this.

Thanks, /TLV

I have the Qwest release of the World promo 12" (titled A New Order Pro-12).

A: Perfecto Mix (7:33) & Brothers Dubstumental (5:39) B: Pharmacy Dub (7:06) & Album Version (4:44) C: Brothers in Rhythm Mix (8:03) & Sexy Disco Dub Mix (5:56) D: World in Action Mix (5:51) & Radio Edit (3:39)

All that's missing are the Perfecto Edit and the Price of Dub from the Ruined in a Day 12".

The times listed are from the labels as I don't feel like listening to World 8 times in a row at the moment. As a rule, the US releases tended to have the full length versions of tracks as they weren't restricted by the 20 minute single rule required for the UK singles chart. Of course there could be typos.

Sure. A low quality mp3 is fine since I have the said 12", but no means to _easily_ listen to it...
