Went to see this flick the other day: apart from the divine Emmanuelle Beart, another reason for seeing it is a bizarre conversation about Joy Division. Bloke has just picked up a woman in a bar, and as her drives her back to his place "Atmosphere" is playing in his car stereo.

Him: "Do you like this music?"

Her: "Yes"

Him: "It's Joy Division. They used to be called Warsaw. Now they're New Order. They're very famous. I know them."

Her: "????????"

Him: "The singer hung himself"

Her: "Don't you hang yourself"

Him: "No, definitely not...."

He breaks the ice by talking about his NO/JD obsession and still manages to get laid. How unrealistic is that!!????

It's not that unrealistic, one of the first conversations i had with my girlfriend was about JD-NO, but then she's as nutty about them as i am. This film is called "Natalie" you say? My girlfriend and i will go see it just for that JD reference you mentioned.

Well, "Nathalie" does that very French movie thing of meandering around contemplating the transience and mysteries of sexual attraction in a mournful, navel-gazing way......

Please don't tell me you do that as well, Nic??!!??
