Sabotage : Their best chorus?

OK im sitting here after 1.5 bottles of wine, in a week where i have had a row which has cut me off from perhaps 70% of my friends and a lot of 'aquiantances'. Listening to all sorts of factory stuff, SXXV, Revenge, Stockholm Monsters, NO, JD.

I just think that the chorus on Sabotage is bloody brilliant, is it their best chorus? i think it might be. luverly acoustic guitar, some vocal gymnastics from barney, a strategic string line, rumbling bass underneath and ace guitar melody. can you want anything more?

just to counteract the thought that i might be a totally miserable bastard, im currently listening to love shack by the b52s :)

and am i the only one who still likes 'drinking in la' by 'bran van 3000'???

Yeah Sabotage is ace really good effort by them "for a b-side" although I personally think it was a mistake it being left off Get Ready, along with Player in the League! How they were left off in favour of Rock The Shack or Slow Jam etc. I'll never know. (IMO!)

As for Factory related stuff, lately I've been listening to ACR's "Force" LP quite alot, "Only Together" is a cool little song and Force 103° is just a great pop song with a great singalong chorus. I've been listening to alot of ACR lately actually, on the lookout for an original copy of "Looking for A Certain Ratio" if anyone can help me out?

I totally agree that Sabotage/or Player In The League would have been better tracks to put on Get Ready, although I disagree that Slow Jam be taken off. Rock The Shack is def more of a b-side or out-take & really shouldn't have seen the light of day. :D

Around the time when news got out about the album being recorded, there was a lot of hype about collaborations with Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes of Primal Scream, and Billy Corgan. It appeared as though they were hedging their bets a bit, using the well-known names to see if it increased the appeal of the product. That's the only reason I can think of for the inclusion of RTS in the final cut ahead of the vastly superior Sabotage and Player in the League. Sabotage would have gone down as a classic if it had received the same level of exposure, as it is, it is consigned to the B-side dumper.

True, but a song of that quality deserves a wider audience than just the committed NO fan who buys every mix of every song. They did the same with 1963 to start with, buried it away on the flip, as they did with Lonesome Tonight.
