Who should remix the upcoming singles?

remixing is essential these days, it gives a great alternative route for the band to get exposure and sales... (for both the original artist and the remixer)

anyways, putting on remixes has been important for ages

it's not saying that NO are incapable of making danceable tracks, it's just that remixes give the band the opportunity to be played in more diverse fields. Like 'breaks' for instance...

I still say my mate was kosher about Deep Dish talking about their remix,whether the track will be called "Hostage" following recent events in Iraq remains to be seen...

As TLV wrote, this topic has been discussed on Ceremony. I would be very happy with some of these: -Above & Beyond = Oceanlab (Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Sijamäki): these guys make very good trance in my opinion (Satellite is one of my favorite trance tracks ever) -Felix Da Housecat: his remix of HTS is one my favorites NO mixes ever -Perfecto/Paul Oakenfold: his take for World is almost superior to the original version -Hardfloor: I loved their remix of Blue Monday -Arthur Baker -Flood -Blank & Jones -Shep Pettibone: is he still working? -Love To Infinity (Peter and Andrew Lee): they are from Manchester and I liked a lot their remix of O2 Innocence -Peter Luts from Lasgo: just curious to see what he would make with a NO track

And... What's the problem with Tiësto? I've got his remixes for Delerium tracks and they are pretty good. And for the 3rd year in a row he was chosen number 1 DJ by DJmag website votation. Armin Van Buuren was 3rd and Paul Van Dyk was 2nd - these two probably would do a good work, too.

And one good thing they should do is what Delerium has done: they included on their album and singles the winner of a remix competition (but better for NO to include on a single). However I still don't think Ara Simonian's remix was the best one on that Acidplanet contest, but that is just another topic.

gotta have at least one oakenfold & osbourne remix. just look at what they did for even better than the real thing (U2) & true faith 94,without doubt (in my mind) the best remixes of songs EVER! regards

And I know most of you hate him, but I have liked a lot Mike Shinoda's "reinterpretation" for Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode and maybe he could do a good remix for a New Order track.

Some top-shelf suggestions already, I'd like to add LCD Soundsystem to the list - perhaps to have a crack at the alleged 'Stooges-sounding' last track. Also:

I personally really hope they steer clear of the vapid trancey DJs mentioned like Tiesto, Van Buuren, Corsten, etc.

They were rumoured earlier to be doing a NO remix but haven't heard anything futher and there's no mention of it on their website.

Although the Lee Coombs remixes are good from a clubbing point of view,i dont think theyve had good remixes for years. The Oakenfold 'Perfecto' sound would be very dated nowdays (he was at his peak in 93) and the majority of the later mixes theyve commisioned have been,through no fault of the band been,well-shite! 60MPH anyone?

Unless they can find remixers who can really do something original and interesting they should leave it.

Personally id prefer new b.sides,and the inclusion of tracks that arent offically available on CD:

Run 2 12",MTO,The Happy One and Temptation 7".

Richard X would get my vote for a mainstream radio friendly re-mix, with a Lee Coombes re-mix for clubs

I'd love to hear a New Order track remixed by Black Strobe, Tiga, Playgroup, Tom Middleton, DJ Hell or Basement Jaxx. If they're not available or interested I'd like to hear remixes by LCD Soundsystem, LFO, Jon Marsh, X-Press 2, Josh Wink or Dave Clarke. They may be highly unlikely to say yes but I think The Chemical Brothers, Liam Howlett from The Prodigy and Rollo and Sister Bliss from Faithless would be worth asking.

However, if we're trying to think of the most fantastic musical fantasy for me the most obvious choice of possible remixers would be Kraftwerk.

They should do their own damn mixes.
