You probably noticed that on Run Wild, the band brought out their old trademark mouth harp (or is it a harmonica?) that they used quite a bit in their older songs. How many songs can you name that use it?

I always thought (we'd get along like a house on fire) that it was a Mellotron or a Melodion. Also found in Hurt, I seem to recall :)
I'm pretty sure I've seen Barney play it with his mouth, so it couldn't be a keyboard instrument.
Surely the melodica is a keyboard instrument that is played on the mouth. Which reminds me that I should go and dig up my old melodica in the garage. Haven't seen it for 15 years. This is gonna be fun, but not for my neighbours.

When you do come across it, don't forget to wipe the dried on gob, snot and mould off the mouth piece. If you scrape it off I think you can roll it up and smoke it.Just my thought for the day.;)
melodica it is (its his instrument of choice...he learnt it at school! lol)....I had one in my xmas stocking as a kid...

...and also features heavily in Your Silent Face. One of the least cool instuments of all time for mine. Excepting the accordian, of course.

Chris, yea, good thinking. The last time I saw me melodica, it really looked disgusting. That's why I must have put it away. It can't look any better after all these years, growing mould in the garage.
Guess I just have to give up on my dreams of becoming a new Augustus Pablo. What a shame. :(

Shite! There goes my credibility! Used to play the accordian in my old secondary school band. Anyway, I think I still can, sort of - I mean, the Pogues are one of my favourite bands - and what instrument do you think they feature on a lot of their songs? !? ![]()
Sorry 'bout that accordian bit - I also don't mind the Pogues. I was thinking of it in more of a Bierkeller and Lederhosen sense. Fear not, for I once had a Stylophone, which is not particularly hip.
