Mr Giles is right: the ferry in fucking December would be 12 hours of heaving your guts up into the cold, dark North Sea. If the NOOL massive guarantee they're turning out for this I'll be forking out my £100 for a flight from Aberdeen Dyce, cheers!!

To answer a question about who has played there Pulp, Julian Cope, Ian Brown, The Smiths, Echo & Bunnymen, Sultans of Ping,Speedway & Idlewide to name a few have visited the isles over the years. madchester nights are fairly common at another venue though smaller than the one Hooky will be at.
Only way is to fly (50 mins from Aberdeen Dyce not many direct flights) or get boat which is overnight 12hrs I think these days as usd to be 14!! from Aberdeen.
Sadly I cant make it but would have been a hoot, The North Star used to be the ONLY cinema there until the 80's but a decent nightclub these days!! (no cimema now but a nightclub that attracts decent djS ha ha ha - Mani djs there soon along with an ex hacienda one on another night)
Check their website for info etc.. If any can go Id say you'd have a fab night!
