In articles, interviews with/about Mark E Smith,I've sensed that there is some bad-blood between him and New Order(pheraps even JD) Anyone know whether this is true?........or is it just me?

Surely there's a relative amount of bad blood between Mark E Smith, and 99.997% of the Western World? And the Eastern for that matter? Anything with a pulse really.
i once read an interview with him where he said something along the lines of "that bloody peter hook struts around manchester like he`s mick jagger...no-one gives a fuck." typical mark e smith phlegm.
After all the years of The Fall being around, probably since the Boar War,has anyone ever figured out what the fuck Mark E Smith is rambling on about??

Hmmmm, you are all wrong!
Being a veteran of 50 plus Fall gigs, a lot in Manchester (going to see them tonight as it goes), I have bumped into Mr. Hook on many occasions and seem him and MES having a right old chuckle over a pint together.
MES is renown for blowing with the wind, one minute he likes you, the next he disses you (see Elastica, The Inspiral Carpets, etc etc).

I seem to remember an NME Chrimbo special a few years back where they got Hooky, Mark E Smith and Paul Heaton to discuss the years music in a pub. Twas a good laugh as you'd expect with the highlight being Mark E Smith claiming that Hooky was money motivated to which Hooky replied "I've never been that interested in money. I've seen the Fall several times". Well, it made me laugh.

Well Mario...
I shall keep that in mind...but seeing how everyone keeps going on about the...I do believe that St. Ettiene (or however it is spelled) shall be my next addition...
That is a bit more dup to ate, Jeff... I think they were at their top early eighties, saw them a few times here in Holland:excellent gigs.Talk about bands coming top holland to play! They sure did. As did the Sound always. As a matter of fact i believe Adrian Borland was living in Amsterdam for a while, god bless his soul

Psst, Jeff, I would'nt bother if I were you, vastly over-rated, trendy to like band. A bit like The Belle & Sebastien. ![]()
the Fall have made several god albums etc - look at Live at the Witch Trials and The Wonderful and Frightening...

Jeff, if you do get into st.Etienne stick to the first 2 albums Foxbase Alpha and So Tough and you wont be sorry. It is certainly not Trendy to like St.Etienne in America. Fucking British Press lifts them up and crashes them down and most everyone follows their fickle taste. FA and ST are absolutely great albums. As for the Fall....now would be a good time to resurrect your shoplifting habits...do not pay money for any Fall albums...the bastard does not need your money. If you are interested in motivated frontmen, check out Kurt Ralske's Ultra Vivid Scene LP "Joy" sheer classic from the first track to the last. I hear he sacked his band to make the album ala Mr. Fall.

Tiger Bay's good as well. As for The Fall, the bastard does need your money !! Don't buy copies though, get them off other people or "alternative means". That way you won't be pissed off as much when you hear it !
