After the likes of Duran Duran being popular again,whats the chances of New Order turning things round. New singles,a new album,tour dates likely-could it be their turn for critical acclaim,brit awards and massive sales? Id like to think so,but doubt itll happen!

Can't see it happening. It doesn't matter how good the new album is, because in the eyes of non-fans/casual fans NO have peaked a long time ago and there isn't returning to those good old days. I know I'm probably going to enjoy what I will get though. ;)

I know what it means in Russian, I assume it is very very similar by the tone of your question.
Duran Duran, The Cure, and a few other 80s stars have had some spotlight but New Order appeals to more than just the past fans, or in turn, they have the ability to attract new audience.
Depeche Mode does this very well too but I doubt their new album won't interfere with New Order's since their's hasn't begun recording.
I don't know if 2005 will be New Order's year specifically, but I predict a stronger fan response than Get Ready, which did sell pretty good and got HUGE critical acclaim.

I don't give a shit about their popularity so far. Will they be more popular or not - that all doesn't matter to me. I'm satisfied with what they produce in music and that's it about it.
Besides the boys don't really bother about promotion in the market as always. So what would one expect, ha? :)
I'm just looking forward to hearing some excellent B-sides this time.
My vote was purely optimistic..based on the following pipedream: More people like them>the new popularity motivates them to work together more>they record more>they tour more>I get to see them more than the one time I've seen them

So my answer is - more of the same - good music, damned to obscurity, same as always. Just hope the band break even on this one...

Same as always, I reckon. I'd like to think that 2005 will really be their year and they'll become more popular but I don't think it'll happen, given the general public's stupidity and lack of taste. Pearls before swine and all that!
As long as they make the album which all their fans regard as excellent that`s the best we could hope for.Like it or not New Order exist in the Pop/Rock world and that world is a VERY VERY fickle world.Even a band that was mega a couple of years ago could release a great album today and it could sink without trace.
