hi all, i heard a new order song covered by a woman at the end of a movie recently, might have been "Walking Tall", anyhow she sounded a lot like Bjork. does anyone know who this is or where i can find it. i've done a google search for the walking tall soundtrack with little results. perhaps that wasn't where i heard it. the song might have been Blue Monday but don't remember. i'm sorry i know i'm being real vague but thank you all for your help.:thumb:

Welcome Joseph

I didn't know the answer to your question, but did a little digging and came up with the answer that yes it was a country-pop version of Blue Monday, performed by Flunk. Can't wait to hear it now - it seems the soundtrack hasn't been released yet though!

A Wolfetones fan ? My taste aint as eclectic has I first thought , unless there's some Californian take on one of the best bands to play the new Ardri in M/cr .

Either way welcome if you're a newbie .

nice disguise if you're JS Barnes; former saviour and missed thorn in the side of nool.

The cheek of it.......I always help newbies if they post a new question that hasn't been asked before, or if they want some information that cannot readily be found in a 30 second search. As has been said before, we've all been newbies, I know how grateful I was when I first arrived here on the scrounge for Brixton 01 tickets....

Well as far as the Wolfetones are concerned they practicaly have a bloody residency in M/Cr and quite a few people who check them out go and have look out of curiosity , meself I have attended with various aunties , some uncles , a few mates and me mrs , over the years , in some respects it's just to revisit some stuff that was part of growin up in the uk .

As far as the Irish Republicanism is concerned , fook me that old chestnut is never far away ,I've listened to that shit for 43 years ; mainly from pissed up uncles at funerals and weddins , sober they wouldn't be seen dead back in Dundrum , most of 'em had left by the late 50's for all the usual reasons ... yet part of growin up in 60's uk in an Irish household was the music , that and the fact that yer Dad was considered a thick paddy , a green wog to use the phrase of the day , each street seemed to have some token bogtrotters ; another phrase of the day , not that I gave a shit then or now , PC was still some cunts initials and it was just how it was . Now I hope I aint in danger of gettin rose coloured specs on this , but I'm quite proud of how I was brought up , but at the end of the day the experience of growin up in 60's uk in an Irish family will never be understood by anyone from Ireland or fuckin America for that matter , and so what if the old ones in the family get weepy for a place that did fuck all for them , it's their revisionist memory when all is said and done .

But please dont throw me in with these so called sons of fookin Eire and their green credentials , I'm about as far from some yank who'se seen the Quet Man and thinks he should throw a dollar at noraid because it's his duty , as you can possibly get .

I didn't go into too much detail because you I knew the kinda furore this topic can open up. I'd still go and see the Wolfies wherever they play though. Luckily enough I've met a great deal of the English Onliners and the topic of Ireland never comes up, and if it were to I wouldnae go into a long debate about it.

There's a time and a place and NOOL certainly isnae it. So lets not have any daft comments about The "Ra" please.
