Brighton are away to QPR on new years day, its a pretty geographically nearby match...

I wonder....... should I bother going to see half of NO DJ.....

I'll have to think about this.

Sounds great, but theres no way ill be able to convince the lads to travel all that way when the likes of Garlands,Cream and 100 top clubs are a mere 30mins away!

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww! a pair of fat middle aged men thinking theyre something theyre not and passing cds onto a proper dj . STICK TO MAKING ALBUMS GUYS! very distasteful in my mind!

come on - should be fun. they did do the back to mine compilation. they ought to have great taste in music. i'd go if i were out there. i'd love to see what they have in their record boxes, even if they are playing compact discs and not vinyl.

Great taste in music

Musical taste is subjective.

Don't you have your own taste?

I was never keen on the idea of these nights, but Jarvo and Johnny Giles persuaded me it was worth it. Mainly cos they are the neworder whores of the site:D

The Hooky night was a great craic and worth every penny. The lock in and 3 hour question and answer session with the great man was one helluva bonus.

I told this missus about Hooky and Barney DJ'ing NYE, response was muted, mainly cos we always spend New Years with the family, so we'll just have to wait and see:beer:

hi..

can anyone confirm this for me? i haven't been here for a while coz i was busy with my papers.. and i can't believe it when i see the news! i'm really afraid it would be like last time- i was there in get loaded in the park for hooky's dj set, but he wasn't even there!!! ( sorry iain, just want to make sure!)

i have bought the tickets of saint etienne on the same date in london, have to sell them out if barney and hooky will really appear in brighton.... ah... still can't believe it!

Maybe Bernard and Peter will officially present a new New Order song at the party? There's a good reason for that and it would be great. By the time they may have done mixing the album and a song from it would be a nice present to the people in the club. :thumb:

So go and hear it :)

its definately happening as i have 2 signed contracts in my office!

wether they play new stuff i havent got a clue? i know hooky played some remixes that i have never heard before last time he was down here.

st.ettiene are playing in brighton at the concorde on the 30th as a warm up for the london show, so theres your answer, make it a long weekend:)

the backpackers hostel is supposed to be ok, but try the premier lodge on north street rooms are only £45 a night (which in brighton is very cheap), from what i have heard you will have to move fast for st.ettiene tickets, i see you have your holdup tickets from the web:)

thank you very much iain :) ( is it the price for two people? i may be there alone so hostel should be good enough for me.)

no mean to be offensive, but uk's cost-of-living is almost three times than my city! so i'd better save every cent in order to buy more NO stuff on ebay or second-hand shops ;) not sure what does holdup mean (pick up at the venue?) however i did buy both tickets last night. since the show ends at 4 i may not book the hostel for 31st, will just hang around on the street and then take the train to go back- it should be ok on the first of the year, right?

haven't been to brighton before but i heard it's beautiful :)

maybe i should move this topic to behind closed doors... sorry for being off-topic! ( i'm so excited from the moment i bought the tickets!)

Had a peak inside this venue on Sunday. Looks a quality place for a New Year's celebration. Dunno what was there before but it's right on the beach, just along from the Zap (er, or was it the Escape - I always get those two mixed up?)

Didn't see any posters up for New Order or anything. Obviously I would've been well away with those if there had've been! ;)

TWENTY FIVE QUID?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No wonder it takes so bloody long to get an album out, they must be raking it in with this Dj-ing lark.

Any link or playlists afterwards? i'd be quite interested in what they play....would they select their own stuff or play to the crowd since it's nye. Us folks in the states would indeed like to know.

Tis New Year's Eve though - sounds rather cheap compared to a lot of places.

Sadly, I shall be in Brighton about 24hrs too late for this one. Och well. Such is life.

So how was it...? What songs did they play? Any songs from the new album? If so how did they sound? Did they say anything about the new album? Or any other interesting things?

Please let us know... :)
