new order dj set on new years eve

And was an Auto Cue in use?

any news? any reports on the new years gig? was it fantastic - could you see them? did anyone meet them? just looking for a wee little bit of some sort of recounting of the evening...

And?

well..now my feet are back on the ground... :(I can begin to recount some of new years eve at the arc. I arrived there at 8:45 and queued behind 'chant' and another n.o.fan. when they let us into club, the delicious champagne flowed! two arc based dj's one of which looked VERY much like a young keef richards (which I told him and he was suitably impressed!) started spinning some sounds- absolutely ace build up to the eveing-eclectic mix-beatles-joy division (she;s lost control) morrissey-iggy pop- sex pistols..all being played..

at 10:30 me and my friend made our way to DJ BOOTH where we remained until Barney left-! music still ace-lots of dancing and people 'being there for barney/hooky' (delete as appropriate!!) FINALLY...around midnight--Mr Hook arrived-played a great set! He spun Monaco 'what do you want from me?!' and made large spontateous gestures throughout! He was smiley, and chatted to fans-including me.... and then..through the smoke--across dance floor..I spun round to see Bernard! Immediately I was patting him on the back and saying very embarrassing things...You're ace..I love you etc!! After mastering the cross fader curteously done by keef richards...he was spinning his sounds! I and other fans chatted to him at length- I personally told him..a) how much I loved him (no surprises there!!) and b)what a hugely profound effect his music has had on my life. The main thing that struck me was what an amazingly nice bloke he was. Very friendly, and happily posing for pics and signing things for fans. I have a pic of me and barney-one of the few that was in fiocus, but sadly it is VERY scary!! (of me!:(.... he was doing A LOT of whistling and whooping and THAT DANCE!! I just remember BEING IN HEAVEN at the fab 'TEARDROPS/CHIC' mix he played- IT WAS AWESOME! I would love a list of what he played, in what order-don't know if there is anyone anorak enough to have taken notes! a guy next to me was taking tonnes of pics on his digital camera- would love to see them, I am sure that his came out MUCH better than my blurry mess!! At end of set- we cheered, whistled...gurned..(!)b OUR APPRECIATION at Barney. He was great. He was soooooooo nice (or maybe just sympathetic!!) It was the night I died and went to Heaven.! Good job you told him he looked like a young Keith Richards (well sexy). Doubt he would have been as pleased if you'd told him he looked like OLD Keith .

Glad you had a good time, sounds like it was a great night with some brilliant music played. I would have been on the dance floor all night. Everything always happen too far away from Newcastle for my liking :(
